This actually could of actually kind of worked. If the princess had some sort of undesirable quality about her (besides Jeph's art) then the joke would be that he disliked both prizes so much that he would try and take something as useless as sand over them. It's not much, but it's better than just trying to end with a randumb punchline.

The realest truth I can tell you is that Jeph never got ANY better at knowing how to draw.
He's managed to build up a vocabulary of about 12 poses he can kind of draw, but any pose requiring any sort of innovation brings him back to the level he was 12 years ago.
