I was thinking this the whole time while reading it. Perhaps he was using the special weaponry made by micro though? I expected at least one of the villains to be immune to bullets, but then Frank would be kind of useless I guess.

I always assumed Zero was preoccupied by getting his MJ back. The way he was drawn he seemed happy or relaxed and parts of him may still have been Parkeresque. Like that ol' parker luck, or the misguessing of Punisher. Hence he got the drop on him.

There was a part where Frank said Thor just kind of swung his hammer and left when he was done killing Ares and Hercules, I thought that was hilarious honestly.

Yeah there's more of it in Avengers vs. I don't remember if they show Hercules, but he comes down and kills Hawkeye and then swings off with his corpse.
