The chicks are alright but you'll be spoiled by all the fanart that makes them significantly cuter than they really are.
Finn and Jake are the MCs but aside from them and Ice King basically everyone is a lady, so that's nice I guess.
/co/ bitches a lot and stuff and sometimes they're well founded but it's a fun enough show so I'd say try it out, see if it's something you want to care about.

It's a fun ride if you don't think about it to hard, if you want a deep and evolving plot show, it's not this. Character's advance, don't get me wrong, but you get a lot of filler.

These days everything's being complained about here.
As a whole, the show's pretty good and it should be a fun ride. The only time I can imagine it stop being "worth it" is some episodes during season 5 and some more episodes during season 6 but they're spread out and aren't as big a deal as they were when they were still fresh.
I would also recommend the comics to read as a supplement.

I'm mostly alright with BMO, but it is pretty weird how they've basically retconned his personality with his backstory.
Initially he was just a chill living Gameboy type thing that was sassy sometimes, now he's an infant who was designed to always be an infant. It's a weird change and I preferred his original character.
