It's not a problem until they start going off with their own B-plot like the stupid fucking raccoon and pug in Pocahontas. I feel like Disney's storytelling has evolved a bit since the 90's and really shone with Bolt, so I'm kind of having faith that their sidekick characters won't just be generic trash like in Little Mermaid.
