I liked it, and I liked the tone of it. Kinda bugs me that Babsgirl seemed to change so drastically for the burnside stuff, which I think would have better suited Stephs character.

They're reprinting Dixon's Robin, where Steph was a major supporting character as Spoiler. There's very little demand to reprint a recent Stephgirl series that got cancelled due to poor sales. Cass is getting a reprint due to the demand as a fan favorite character, her being back in B&R Eternal and the series being over ten years old. War Games is far more like,y to get a reprint than Steph's short run as Batgirl

People liked Spoiler, people hated the bullshit surrounding her death and rebirth and her then turning into Batgirl for no fucking reason, that completely took away everything that was endearing about her when she suddenly was being pushed as hypercompetent because lol, time jump training, with tonally off art making the early issues seem like Steph was a psychopath because the story was going for a slightly looney toons effect but the realistic art didn't convey that at all.

She was training with Cass so it would make sense that she got better, and she wasn't "hypercompetent" as Batgirl, she was just better than she used to be which would make sense with training. She was still kind of impulsive and didn't really think things through like pic relayed or when she fucking dislocated her shoulder running away from the police. The most impressive thing she did was reacting and kicking a gun out of someone's hand from a couple feet away, but then the next page you find out it wasn't even loaded.
She got better but she wasn't nearly as good as you're implying.

I hate this bitch. She makes the idea that fighting crime in Gotham is a serious issue a joke. The robins live and train rigorously under Bruce every day for years before they are ready to stand on their own, but apparently girl power and a couple of self-defense seminars is enough for her. She's a bimbo who never thinks or has shown any sense of discipline but somehow everyone likes her and she always comes out on top.

Her being fired was good. Her dying was good. She was absolutely incompetent and it made no sense that Bruce gave her ANY chance at all. It had meaning, it showed that you can't just be a bat-member because you just feel like it and fight crime treating it like playtime and not have to dedicate your life to it.
It all changed thanks to fan mandate. It made it all Bruce's fault. She was a perfect flower who was wronged by big bad Batman. She could take out entire groups of men in their prime who were twice her weight and armed as easily at Batman without nearly a fraction of the training, thought, and time he put into it. All while quipping. It's doesn't deserve any recognition in the Batman mythos because it all it does is serve to water down the accomplishments and hard work of the others.
Editors literally hate Stephanie, there's really not much else to say. They hated her fans and that went on to just hate for the character in general. There's stories about how writers were explicitly told they weren't allowed to use her in the New 52 for anything, and when someone snuck her into a panel and Editorial found out they colored her hair red and turned it into a Barbara cameo.

She receives some half-assed training from Batman for like a week and some from a cripple who never really had any arduous training either and she's able to take out Scarecrow, Livewire, etc. People who have given Supes and Bats problems.

You're acting like she was one shotting everyone. When a lot of her big fights she had help from others, like Supergirl, Batman & Robin and that detective that followed her around.
I don't know when she was ever patronizing, and she did take responsibility for war games. Tim called her out on not taking it seriously multiple times, Cass once knocked her out because she was a liability in a fight. And she did earn the title because she proved herself capable multiple times and she passed Bruce's test.
Being upset that Cass' spot as batgirl was replaced is understandable, but you're way overexagerating her skill level.
