Isn't his voice supposed to be all weird and cancery?

I gotta admit, I'm disappointed that his voice isn't even slightly growly. That's how I've always read him.

This keeps swinging between trying to hard and hitting the mark.

Right now it's trying too hard.

deadpool has infinite healing factor. His voice would be fine
>>
>>78496795
Nobody would want to play as deadpool if they had to do that. It's bad enough that Reynolds is going to be either covered in cancer scabs or sealed completely in a red suit for 90% of the movie, if they had to mess with the voice too then it would leave little room to actually act.

I got to say, Reynold's enthusiasm for the character makes me want to see the movie all the more.
>>
>>78494629
Jesus fuck. Ryan nailed it. Like, that's the best I've seen him act. He's really into the role, huh?
>>
This is gonna be the only good Ryan Reynolds movie of the last 5 years and I'm fine with that

Also I really hope they get some of the darkness of the character involved instead of just the comedy half. He is basically the sad clown of the marvel super verse when written right. People that meet him think he's a joke people that know him feel honestly sorry for his life.
>>
>>78500082
RIPD is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad.
>>
>>78501825
It looks like that's what they're going for, considering the somber tone with which he says he loves Vanessa and the how absolutely done with life he seems before he gets experimented on. Plus, he seems completely unamused with how deformed he's become. Still, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Just be glad if they get any of it right.

Old Deadpools voice used to be described as rough and gravely. They've long since stopped describing it that way though.

This reference humour is gonna age the movie real quick. SlapChop and Kevin Sorbo aren't exactly evergreen joke topics.

why does he have to swear so much.
Deadpool doesn't swear, it triggers my autism.
>>
>>78496598
there's a mouth under the mask
>>
>>78507543
It's funny because he's known to be foulmouthed which he is but it's lumped right along with cursing even when he doesn't really do it that much. I think that's more of an effect of the medium though. !@#$ would take up too much room when you have such little space compared to movies or books.
>>
>>78507543
You n me both
>>
>>78500082
Turbo was mostly a film that nobody felt was really necessary but was still an alright kids movie.

>>78501889
Completely forgot that existed, watched it on showtime or something about a year ago. It is one of his worsts but probably wouldn't make it into any top 3 lists because people either didn't see it or just forgot. The others are all more memorable becuase they are adaptations of well known franchises so they got more attention and people made bugger deals when they sucked ass.
>>
>>78507543
he #*^$*#'s all the time. Honestly I think the movie would be funnier if the swearing was bleeped.
>>

This, but I doubt it would be bleeped.
>>
>>78507791
>>78507702

Funny thing is he and a lot of other characters do swear a lot but its just the transition from no sound to sound makes it really awkward and embarrasing, just because they can doesnt mean they should.

>Jared Leto was literally the Joker during filming
>Ben Affleck has slowly become Bruce Wayne

He warned us about the Hypercrisis /co/. Why didn't we listen?
>>
>>78507861
>78507861
What I'm saying is that even though characters are supposed to be foulmouthed in comics, it doesn't come up as much as in movies because dialogue has to flow much faster and shorter than in films or books. Like Deadpool is considered to have a potty mouth so he says a lot of vulgar things but only swears once or twice an issue but in film they have the ability to do both. I personally have no qualms with fuck every other sentence but they shouldn't be as forced as they are in the trailers although to me it appears to me that that may just be for the sake of getting the idea across.
>>
Everything I see about this makes me hate the character more. I'm glad this exists as a barometer for how shit someone's taste in humor is though.

In deadpool volume 3 his daughter asks what's wrong with his voice and he says his vocal cords are scared.

But I will see it in theaters, probably
>>
I'm honestly still kind of shocked that this movie is happening at all.
It feels like just yesterday when he was Dudepeel, Green Lantern flopped, and no one in their right mind would ever make an X-men related film without Brian Singer and lots of black lycra and leather.

But now here we are, Guardians of the Galaxy got a movie, Civil War is getting a movie, Batman and Superman are appearing in the SAME movie, and, whether or not it's good, we're getting a faithful Deadpool movie. And not even that bullshit "Deadpool in name and appearance only, separated from his own universe" bullshit you'd get in the 90s and 2000s, this movie actually has real X-men in it.

God, the future is weird.

>Antman is a critical and financial success
>People like shrinking powers now
>even thought it had subpar marketing and is about a character with a "joke" power
>>
>>78508738
Outside of this I don't even remember them mentioning Wade having a scratchy voice so it must have only appeared once or twice. I think it's a neat addition but my voice for him is too ingrained by now!
>>
>>78509337
Marvel almost going out of business and selling off all their best IP is the best thing to ever happen to cape movies. Otherwise these "lesser" characters would never have gotten a chance.
>>
>>78509337
Here's hoping Dr. Strange will make magic in a contemporary setting cool. Arrow has already gone balls-deep with that, which is a good start, but as far as mainstream appeal magic is relegated to Middle Earth, Hogwarts, and Disney fare.
>>
>>78509384
I recall a couple time where his voice was described as kinda high pitched and grating.

at the same time what parts of his body are being effected by the cancer the most changes from time to time so in theory there'd be times when he sounds normal and times when his throat and vocal chords are more fucked up than normal. There's also times when he straight up doesn't have lips, that'd probably make him sound weird too.
>>
>>78509337
>normies can recognize Eson the searcher

>Avengers is going to be a 30-film franchise
>Man of Steel is going to turn into an extended universe
>a good green lantern movie is actually a possibility at this point
>a Justice League Dark film is a strong possibility, if not completely confirmed

God, I remember getting excited for X-men and Raimi's Spider-man and never once considering the possibility that they would explode into whatever this explosion of caped popularity is.

What a time to be alive.

Let's not forget that Kick Ass, Hellboy and Walking dead have adaptation too.
I'm hoping more smaller/non big 2 company's stories get picked up too
>>
>>78509538
that's what makes this so great. All comics are beginning to be more seriously considered for adaptations, much like books are now.
>>
>>78497598

>You can control the weather?
>Like Al Roker?
>>
>>78509538
The Walking Dead is huge, I'll give you that, but Kick Ass and Hellboy both had underperforming sequels that pretty much killed both franchises.

What blows me away is that a live-action adaptation of fucking Preacher is finally a reality. If that show can actually last long enough to finish the story I'll be truly amazed. Honestly, if it even gets a second season I'll be surprised.
>>
>>78509580
They should be. comics is just a medium, but there was always an air of elitism from groups that viewed comics as "just for kids"
>>
>>78509630
But I like Hellboy 2
>>
>>78509760
Yeah, so did I. But that doesn't change the fact that not enough people saw it for the studio to invest in Hellboy 3.
>>
>>78509789
I know what a shame
but with the surge of comic adaptation I hope Ron Pearlman and Del Taco do a movie again

Well, both Pacific Rim 2 and Hellboy 3 have been in production purgatory for quite some time, so there's a possibility at least one will get made.
