I'm a huge sucker for when modern comics acknowledge Silver Age campiness or even work them into canon somehow. Are there other examples of this?

Grant Morrison's Batman run was filled with it.

Grant morrison animal man.

Grant Morrison anything
Grant Morrison's Batman #682 is absolute top tier if you're into this.

Ok, are there any instances of this *OTHER* than Grant Morrison? The only one I can think of is Gaiman's Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader.

Does alan moore what ever happened to man of tomorrow counts. Also peter david supergirl many haply returns.

Batman Odyssey is KIND OF like that, in that it clumsily attempts to unite silver age and modern age stories and storytelling.
It's also batshit insane so your mileage may vary I guess.

Grant Morrison's Flamethrower!

Oh shit I remember that page from my childhood--it was in an old Batman annual from 89/90, wasn't it? The one with the Bolland cover with Batman and these sort of KKK-looking guys?
>>78472817
Yeah and if you're not aware of what's going on in Final Crisis you'll find everything with The Lump confusing as fuck.
If you want to read Batman 682 and 683 you HAVE to read Final Crisis.

It's from 'When Is A Door: The Secret Origin Of The Riddler', part of Secret Origins Special by Neil Gaiman.

Definitely had it when I was a kid. 'Cause I remember being struck at how "un-mainstream" and cartoony the drawing looked. Ahh yeah just googled it, there's no way I could forget that cover (I knew it was a Bolland), I can even remember the corner newsagents I bought it from, I was on holiday. Nice one Anon thanks, good memories.

Its amazing that this is even more relevant now than it was when lucas held star wars himself.
>>78473595
I wouldn't say I agree with that. I was definitely more confused reading Final Crisis than I was reading Batman 682/683 beforehand.

If you're talking about crazy merchandise that was ALWAYS a thing with Star Wars movies.
The Starman, the one with Jack was kinda about that
Paul Dini briefly jumped on the Morrison train.
