Well it's one of the better kiddie cartoons.
I like it a lot. It's not perfect and it's deliberately not even trying to be like the shorts, but I'd take something like this, that honestly tries to do its own thing with the characters, over a spinoff like Wabbit or Tiny Toons.
The portrayal of Daffy in this show is actually pretty damn great if you don't mind the "asshole" interpretation of his character.

If you mean outside of the show, some of the classic shorts had them going on vacation together, and one of the later ones (early '60s) had Daffy staying in Bugs' hole in the ground for a few days and entering them on some game show where friends race each other for the prize. Dunno if the term "best friends" was ever used, but that does imply some level of friendship when they're not doing the duck season/wabbit season thing.

He's often funny, but he's very, very Peter Griffin, too: there's a huge difference between being a jerk and being an *unapologetic* jerk.
Even 1950s Daffy, while willing to acknowledge that he was greedy and craven, still seemed to think he was a sympathetic person.
TLTS Daffy basically says "Of course I'm a jerk. You're just going to have to deal with it. What, you're not up to the challenge? Wuss."
That's funny in small doses, but enough of it and you've got Peter Griffin, or in a more realistic story a character you simply don't want to spend much time with.
