And from there just list the flaws, and end it with a closing statement reiterating that he didn't outright hate the show. I have my own criticisms of the show as is. But I still love it to death. The animation could be better, but that probably has to do with the shows budget more than likely. And there isn't anything wrong with a show trying to experiment with having more drama in it. The unfortunate part is a lot of the drama for the gems is solely stemming from Rose. Which finally looks like it's gotten away from that with Peridot being thrown into the group. I only hope they do it better and don't linger around that for too long.

After watching the video for 41 minutes, I have to say the guy is right. Steven Universe is a very disappointing show. I'll definitely use this video as a source for a thesis I have to write up about the quality of cartoons in the 21st century.

Eh I dunno. I mean the way real life works isn't according to some setup arc or anything, and SU is pretty much presented to you from Steven's perspective. I mean he's a dumb kid and this might be some kind of excuse, but he wouldn't pick up on a self-loathing character too much. And it's not like people who are self-loathing and put others before themselves are really all open about it, and are pretty spontaneous with their emotions, so like, being in the Kindergarden could just set off some pent up emotions. Also I always kinda saw her as joking with others and making fun of them to keep her mind off her own failures, cause that's kind of how those people work too.
I mean it's not a perfect show and the characters aren't perfect ( and the writing might be an example of this)but I don't think it's done anything horrible with it's writing so far, aside from the hospital episode, that shit was retarded
