It's to be more reminiscent of deadpool's look I think, the whole schtick behind her character is that she is just an average girl from a world basically the same as our own transported to the marvel universe. She has enough knowledge about the workings of comics that she figures she won't die terribly as a random side character if she can make herself popular enough, so she tries to do just that. I believe copying deadpool's look is part of that plan.
