She's got Tony Stark's swagger and over-abundance of confidence, Steve Roger's discipline and military training, and raw power enough to rival Thor (unless Aaron is writing him it seems). The real problem is that most comic publishers have a really fucked up idea of what "appealing to woman" means.
They think taking a random book and making the MC a minority (be it by gender/race bending or "passing the tourch" is going to make woman and minorities wanna read it. In reality, people that aren't interested in reading a certain group aren't going to suddenly pick it up the exact same book in terms of tone and action but with a minority.
Thor is a great exemple of that. Marvel's belief that the female interest in movie Thor would translate into book sells is silly, since the fangirls only cared about how hot Chris Hemsworth is and Loki's bad boy's charm.
