What was their fucking problem?
>>
THIS is what everyone is raving over?

Really /co/? THIS is the "big netflix hit"?
>>
>>78397375
For starters, he's wearing socks with sandals.
>>
>>78397375
he probably had mental issues and his sister was a bitchy cunt who sheltered him.
>>78397385
>THIS is what everyone is raving over?
no one is really raving about it. the general consensus is that it was pretty disappointing.
>>
They were lovers. As long as they used protection there's nothing wrong with that.
>>
Twins are just weird.
>>
>>78397422
>>the general consensus is that it was pretty disappointing
Whose consensus? The netflix reviews are pretty positive.

Personally, there are a lot of aspects of it I liked. Really, it's hard to go too wrong with a mind controlling David Tennant character in my book (consider my buttons pushed). And I generally appreciate flawed protagonists, as long as their flaws have good supporting backstory, and they have some more purely admirable peers for contrast.

The twins were basically a microcosm of the part I didn't like: all women are raging bitches, and all men are either useless or evil. It just gets so formulaic and repetitive.
>>
I thought that's how white people always are
>>
>>78397375
This is the evidence that characters in this show were unlikable and unrelatable shits. The only more or less cool person in the show is Luke and maybe that junkie.
>>
>>78397375
He's a pony poster.
>>

Your opinion /=/ the general consensus

People couldn't shut up about how much they enjoyed Jessica Jones for a week after the show went up.

That's pretty much any big thing on /co/. People love it for a month and then start shitting on it. Look at Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man 3, Age of Ultron, basically any live action Marvel project.
>>
>>78397385
>Really /co/? THIS is the "big netflix hit"?
WHo have you been talking to?

/co/'s opinion on it is mixed.

Personally, I liked it slightly more than Daredevil. It has problems, but it's one of the stronger entries in the MCU.
>>
>>78397375
They moved too far from the rest of the McPoyle family.
>>
>>78398075
Don't trust Netflix reviews man. They fluctuate a lot.
>>
>>78398248
No, it's actually a rapidly gentrifying urban area covered in cameras with enough cops spread through two distinct police forces to populate a large town.
>>
What is this
>>
>>78398248
They were a pair of awkward socially inept siblings that lived together. I doubt they had any real friends or family that they still talked to. Who knows how they even got money. If they were to disappear who would even know?

I don't even live in a big city, but I work with a lot of people. Every once in awhile one will quit or get fired and even if it's one I saw every day unless it gets passed around in gossip, sometimes weeks or months can go by before I realize that I haven't seen them in awhile. If they were dead who would even know
>>

Jessica Jones.
>>
>>78398475
Ancillary characters in Jessica Jones. They live in the apartment above hers and are always fighting and having loud, kinky sex.

they're also brother and sister

>"Anon, you're so funny!"
>eventually stop seeing bike girl around
>forget about her until someone asks me if I'd heard about Francesca
>she'd been found alone in a hotel room, dead of a drug overdose
>eventually it clicks inside my head that Francesca was bike girl
>that was how I learned her name
>I'd seen her just about every day before then and I never learned her name until after she died
>>

He was probably the most likable character in the show, pre-Nuke. But given the "men are useless or evil" principle, we all should have realized he wouldn't last...
>>
>>78398594
>not learning co-worker's name
You're a pretty shitty person anon.
>>
>>78398551
He was unlikable because of how retarded he was.
>>
>>78398657
I've gotten a lot better about that since then. There are over seven billion people out there, and I haven't gotten to know nearly enough of them.
>>
>>78398626
>But given the "men are useless or evil" principle
Not sure where you're getting this from.

Two of the most immoral and unsympathetic characters in the show were women (surpassed only by the literal rapist/murderer), and the most competent, good-natured character in the cast was a man.
>>
>>78398657
Some people just don't have memories for names, I know I don't.

At the store I worked at during undergrad there was this big dude that worked the backroom and kind of annoyed me that I could never remember the name of (still don't). He was balding and kind of lurched around in what I'm sure he considered a strut and reminded me of Frankenstein so I started calling him Frank, and he acted like he didn't care. Two months later every one in my department, people on the other side of the store I never interacted with, and actual managers started calling this nigga Frank.

Let's just get it over with

>Stuff I liked
Tennant and Luke Cage for those 2 minutes when he actually did something and wasn't just a walking eye candy poster for his own future series

>Stuff I didn't like
Main actress
A bunch of useless shit in the plot like Nuke, all those supporting characters and pretty much Luke Cage for the most part
JJ always talking about being a hero without doing any heroing herself really
Cringy dialogue all over ("You will break, desu" like I would say that this is porn level dialogue but I'm pretty sure it's actually better in porn)
>>
>>78399049
>JJ always talking about being a hero without doing any heroing herself really
Did you watch the same show? Because the narration was constantly talking about how she WASN'T a hero and didn't consider herself one.
>>
>>78398507
Hot. I still don't wanna watch it. But if it were all about them I would.
>>
>>78399043
I'm glad I'm not the only person whose first thought was this song.
>>
>>78398957
You mean the junkie who was eventually cleaned up and upgraded from inviting himself into Jessica's apartment to eat her peanut butter to inviting himself into Jessica's apartment to do her dishes? He was good natured, but ultimately useless.

And I never said the the women were any better (although they were certainly more effective); that would be the "women are raging bitches" side of the equation.

You need both sides (women are raging bitches, and men are useless or evil) to produce such a prototypical Strong Female Character (TM) driven show.
>>
>>78399153
You have some personal issues that you need to work through with a licensed professional instead of projecting them onto a TV show about a flying bitch with super strength.
>>
>>78399153
I meant Luke.
>>
the female twin was the jar jar binks of the series prove me wrong protip you can't
>>
>>78399153
>You need both sides (women are raging bitches, and men are useless or evil) to produce such a prototypical Strong Female Character (TM) driven show.
Nigga, what are you talking about?

The women ranged from moral to immoral, competent to incompetent. Jessica was both immoral at points and incompetent most of the time.

The men ranged equally. Some were saints, some were awful people, some were useless and some were competent. Luke was both a good person and a competent one.

You're angry at this show because you perceive it to be pushing some SJW agenda that's nowhere to be found in it.
>>
>>78397375
Austim.
>>
>>78398671
What are you talking about? The guy was fucking on point the entire series. "We need to kill him."

Then Jessica pulled a Steve Jobs and pretended she came up with the idea all on her own while having no remorse for the suffering she caused by protecting him so long.
>>
>>78399266
We were supposed to like Jar Jar.
>>
>>78398507
I thought you just heard them arguing.
>>
>>78399320
>having no remorse for the suffering she caused by protecting him so long.
Jessica is literally nothing but a walking pile of remorse and self-loathing over all her terrible decisions.

She never pretended she came up with the idea. It was a case of "Fuck, I did all this for nothing". When Nuke confronted her after Hope died, she agreed with him, but he attacked her anyway.
>>
My mom really fucking likes this show. She has already finished watching it after a mere week and is anxiously awaiting the second season.

Never would I have thought my mom would be totally into a marvel show.
>>
>>78399212
It's more like guided falling.
>>
>>78399075
No you wouldn't. He clearly has some mental disorder, it's hard to tell if she does or not but either way she's insufferable.
>>
>>78398075
luke cage isn't evil or useless
>>
>>78399364
your moms a pleb
>>
>>78399222
How was Luke at all useful?
He may have been a good lay, but I expect that any positive effect that might have had on Jessica was counteracted by the awkwardness of screwing the widower of the woman whose chest she had punched in.
And when it came time to kill the baddie, he immediately got himself mind controlled and had to be shot in the head and carted around as dead weight (being shot somehow concussed him when blowing himself and his bar up didn't; his aura of uselessness was so great he couldn't even harm himself!).
>>
>>78399321
I meant strictly in the sense that she added nothing to the story and I wanted to punch her in the face every second she was on screen.
>>
>>78397375

I know they say that a opinion can't be right or wrong but this is an exception to that.
Your opinion is wrong.
>>
>>78412350
So you're telling him that he's wrong and he didn't like it more than daredevil?

He never said it was better, he just enjoyed it more.

I feel the same to be honest. DD was more solid, but JJ made me lose my shit more. We could all predict the end of DD but I had no idea how she was gonna beat kilgrave until she did it.

Daredevil is the safer show and is great because of it. It gave us absolutely everything we wanted except for a ginger matt. Jessica Jones, is a lot more edgy and some parts of it feel like they were made up on the fly but it was more of a roller coaster ride because of it.
