>The Bagger 288 was built for the job of removing overburden before coal mining at the Hambach stripmine in Germany. Thats how Transformers work: they find a vehicle that roughly equal to them in mass, scan it, and now thats their vehicle mode.
In the movies, anyway. The cartoons are less specific about what they scan or turn into, because kids don't care.
