This is Professor Zoom, not Zolomon Zoom. Zolomon never had a connection to the speedforce, but Professor does. Speedsters literally CAN NOT die unless Black Flash touches them, which severs their connection to the speedforce and permanently kills them.
When speedsters die they just merge back with the speedforce.
Also, we know for a fact that his return is his past future self who barry traps on earth by stealing his speed. You'll note that the Barry who fought RF in the past was always White Emblem Barry. yeah harry is fun and i like the angle with his daughter but he's not as compelling yet as a character. wells in season one was immediately grabbing from standing up at the end of ep1 and then murdering a man in ep2. from it kept rolling until we got to ep9 when he was confirmed reverse flash and then ep15 when he killed cisco while revealing himself to the audience.

That arc was painful to read. The post-necksnap Barry was a bunch of, frankly, out of character moralising and a big stick waving "KILLING IS BAD, MMKAY?" in the worst way possible.
