It's not very good. It's a shameless attempt to mimic the Disney formula and portraying pre-revolution Russia as some fairytale utopia with kind-hearted rulers is in very poor taste.

Yes, but Russian history is centuries of tragedy and horror, the Czars really seeing just how much blood you can squeeze out of a serf. Its the sort of thing you read when you want to cry, so I can see why they went the rout they did.
