Vicky is treated like shit by her family and is trying so hard to be loved by them that it's hard for her to recognize love when she considers it a barter/punishment system.Also closted gay,ayyy lmao.
And Jenny's life is garbage that she has to be oblivious to get by and, literally, the only thing she had going for her is her looks.

This series never fails to impress, even on a re-read. Such natural character development is few and far between, and it was great to see Karine's confidence build up over the course of this issue. That and we get good old Albin and Hugo soon. Thanks for the dump anon, always appreciated.

I just finished reading ahead yesterday and I have to repeat what I posted on the last thread, the whole"bullying made me into a serial killer"thing was really starting to sound like a made for TV teen drama.
Also Vicky's Too-Cool-For-Schoollesbian gfwas also kind of weird to me, but I think it was mostly that I'm tired of the trope after seeing it so often in comics recently.
But still, this shit is great, almost Nana or Oniisama E levels for the other weebs out there.

Yeah I think when a series is focused on the daily troubles of young girlshaving a big story arc leading into serial murders is always going to feel out of place. I think I'd have preferred it if it wasn't directly serial murders and more 2 instances that didn't get solved, like a couple people found stabbed by/under a road or something. Would make it somewhat more believable in terms of the building up of pent up aggression into one moment of self-righteous anger quickly seen as a mistake. Would allow for either more of a surprise when finding out or when knowingly covering up the incident.However, the characters were strong as always during so it was still great to read.
As for Vicky's friendusually I find lesbianism so out of place or lazy, but i think at least the attraction side of things was handled well with her boring arse boyfriend acting as incentive to give it a go.Cool character, but a bit too convenient for what the story wanted to do.

Like I get it that the dude wasn't a very creative guy, but he is far from a bad person as far as we can see, specially when we are never actually given anything to believe Vicky is a "rebel",as she puts, it that's trying to hard to conform. And is weird how Vicky goes from school hottie to craving lesbian from just one kiss. I hope they subvert that romance somehow like they did with all the others.But still, I wouldn't really mind if it was just as expected and that was just a kind of cool girl character.

OP here. Tonight's storytime might start about an hour later than usual or so. Guests over for Christmas celebrations and all, so I don't want to be rude and dip out early on family friends. Still, not likely to start significantly later than 9 or 9:30.
