Building up a 3* BW team is FUN though and is something newer players can participate in. By making it 4-6* only, it makes it so only people who've been playing for a while can really participate in and you can't make specific BW teams that way since the restrictions force you to make the team correspond to the BW. I like 4-6* BW's restrictions forcing you to mix it up, but that's only because 3* let's you craft a team perfectly to your liking that doesn't require extreme investment. It doesn't take too much time to get someone 3* BW ready so you can play around with it more.
For me, 3* BW is the most fun part of the game.

The inherant problem with 3* battleworld is this, it discourages purchasing more bios in the long run.
Think about it this way, if ther's a 3* battleworld, this encourages old players to only invest so much time into the game and to KEEP certain heroes at a lower level.
So if they decide to have flash sales, or a costume for that particular hero, you are less inclinded to get both the former and the latter. Then there's people like the third anon, who LOVE battle world 3*.
They're likely to have several or more heroes purposely halted at 3* which means that's tons of characters they might potentially be encouraged to buy.
As far as it's place in the game for new players, they don't want new players to get much for free, they want them hooked and roped into buying things as soon as possible, so it goes against the f2p mantra by letting them have acess to vetern areas for free with little investment. They WANT the paid vets to whoop them so they're encouraged to even the playing field by buying boosts and biometrics and stones, you dig?
The other part of this is, this lets vets have more access to more biometrics, rather than being locked out of two tiers, due to multiple factors, you're much less likely to do this if one of those restrictions is removed, which also allows them to bring more heroes into battleworld as rewards. Heroes like Gwen.

I enjoyed the 3* BW. It was the most fun mode in the game for me so yes, I'm going to be hugely disappointed if the mode that I got the most enjoyment out of is no longer in the game. I've been buying the Stark Stash every month since I started playing, and have bought multiple crystal packs. The reason I spent money on the game wasn't because I was forced to, but because I wanted to support a developer that I felt honored the player's time by prioritizing fun over traditional f2p mobile game tactics. This month's updates have been a series of changes that make me worried they're going the traditional f2p route.

Probably because this month's updates have been the first real series of disappointments and anti-player changes since the battleworld update. Every update in between those two have been stellar. Does it ruin the game? No. Is it all bad? Neither of which are direct adaptations and change stuff, so if you're looking for "accuracy" or whatever then you're better off just reading the comics. Also the MCU will never do Planet Hulk. Marvel doesn't own the solo Hulk distribution rights (Universal still has them) so they're never doing another Hulk solo movie and have gone on record multiple times saying that if they were to do another Hulk solo movie, it wouldn't be Planet Hulk.
