3h 15 minutes
Is this the longest superhero movie ever?

My real question is, will longer superhero movies become popular?
I think the director's cut of Watchmen might be longer.

It's not just superhero movies.
Used to be a time when you got 90 minutes of film and that's that.
Today every piece of shit has to be 2 1/2 hours long.
Jesus, did you see the new James Bond?
It's officially the longest James Bond movie, yet it still manages to feel like a rush-job.
Wait seriously?
Christ and I thought TDKR was pushing it for me when I didn't realize it was like 2.75 hours long
>>78336008
What?
>Runtime: 141 min
>>78336403
Nobody knows how to do proper pacing anymore.
>>78336599
OP counts all the times he paused the movie to go make a hot pocket as part of the runtime
>>People falling for obvious bait.
If it was 3 hours, it would have had good pacing.
>>78336241
Probably, but not the mainstream ones. Since screens are limited, shorter films are needed to get more profit.
>>78336008
Wish was that long.
The movie needed more time.
>>78336613
Why does Google show 3 hours and 15 minutes?
>>78336699
The original run time was that long. The movie gut cut to a much lower length before theater release.

>According to a lengthy article in Vulture, director Joss Whedon's first cut of "Age of Ultron" clocked in at a lengthy three and a half hours. Whedon and producer Kevin Feige then had to whittle it down to 142 minutes. (Disney told us at a press screening the film has a 141-minute runtime.)
>>78336599
Did I watch a longer version than everyone else?
>>78336599
This.
>>78337170
What the fuck? That's not right.
AoU is slightly shorter than the first movie.
I wouldn't mind sitting through a 4 hour movie if it didn't feel like stuff was missing and the pacing wasn't terrible for it.
Google keeps saying it's 3+ hours
>>78337005
Movie definitely suffered from having so much cut.
>>78337394
Pretty much this.
>>78337170
>>78337260
Directors cut is the 3 hour one, the actual runtime is 141
>>78337829
Too bad the director's cut will never actually be released.
>>78337394
This.
I don't have any problem with long movies, I watch them to have fun and to pass the time.
I thought there was no director's cut?
>>78336008
Who cares?
It's going to be Marvel trash anyway.
The length of a film should be directly related to the endurance of the human bladder.
- Alfred Hitchcock
Went googling, came across this quote in an article about a directors cut:
>“The first time I ever heard a re-mix, I was 13 and I was listening to the radio. I heard a song that had been re-mixed and it freaked me out so much that I turned off the radio and never listened to it since, literally. That is an actual truth. I felt like, “Wait, that was the song. You can’t do that.” Our entire culture consists of doing exactly that, but I’m not for it. If I tell a story, I want that to be the story I told.”
