Why it seems that being a furry was ok in the 90s?

Why it seems that being a furry was ok in the 90s?
>>
Is this Foodfight
>>
Internet wasn't popular back then.
>>
In the 90s nobody knew what a furry was.
>>
That was before the internet went big and artists realized that people wanted to fuck animals
>>
>>78326322
but that's exactly why Tiny Toons ended, they got fan mail from people who wanted fuck buster.
>>
>>78326361
Proves?
>>
This was before they assumed a slew of porn would be made.

Now they tone down character designs.
>>
>>78326141
Furry culture wasn't all out there so not many people were aware of it so they felt no need to tone down on the cartoon people animals.

But thanks to the internet and furries refusing to hide their power-levels they ended up ruining things for everyone else
>>
There didn't used to be an immediate sexual connotation to anthropomorphic animals
>>
>>78327959
>There didn't use to be an immediate sexual connotation for anthros
The Egyptians, Hellas, Romans and shitting streets would have a word with you
>>
>all this wrong

furries have been a thing since the 70's

furries have been creeping on people on the industry since the 80's

furries have BEEN in the industry itself since the 90's

the difference is that back then, content made = content sold since network TV still dominated, now it is practically impossible to make cartoons as niche as most of that old furry bait was.
>>
>>78328455
>furries have been a thing since the 70's
The ancient Egyptians have that beat
>>
>>78328526

ancient Egyptians didn't try to marry their gods
>>
>>78328455
"furries were a thing" and "everyone knew about furries" are two completely and utterly different things. you don't seem get the crux of the issue (which is the stigmatization of furry, literally spelled out in the OP's question)

you're just looking for an opportunity to "flaunt your superior knowledge" that everyone already knows and knew was irrelevant.
>>
>>78328547
Yes they did

>gods were praised
>honored in sex orgies
>fursuited

They were ahead of their time
>>
>>78327315
>Now they tone down character designs.

As if that helps at all.

the majority of people on earth still don't know they are a thing, but again, those in the industry did as far back as the 80's. You seem to suck at deductions.

sexualization in general has taken a dive in animation, this is not related to anthros carrying a stigma.
>>
You're about to get your big break, OP.
2016 = Year of the Theatrical Furries

Plus, there's always enough We Bare Bears, Harvey Beaks, Breadwinners, TAWoG, The Lion Guard, Sheriff Callie's Wild Wild West, MLP:FiM, Bojack Horseman, Micky Mouse & Wabbit reboots, Tom & Jerry, most of those Dreamworks spinoffs and Sonic Boom to go around.

Oh wow...feeling nostalgic. I think this show had some influence on my, ah, interests. Like how the dog puppet had the glasses, very noticeable

It still is

Why do people honestly think anyone outside of Something Awful and 4chan gave a fuck about furries?
>>
>>78328547
Try reading some of those stories. Had tons of sex and stuff like that.
>>
>>78328348

All of those groups (except I don't know what shitting streets is...) had gods or mythological figures that had the heads or body parts of animals that were not inherently sexual.
>>
>>78329791
>>78328598

Because they were gods.
>>
>>78328660

The majority maybe, but come on, everyone with an internet connection knows.

it was always ok since ancient egypt anon

His art isn't bad to say just odd art.

this guy is clearly mentally disturbed and needs professional help
>>
>>78329757
not sure. I think because of an old CSI episode or something. Even then, most people don't know or care about them. And even if they do, the first thing they think of is someone in a fursuit.

Or they assume that everyone with an internet connection has come across furry porn or knows a ton about them
>>
>>78330130
>everyone with an internet connection knows.

no they don't. Even with an internet connection, a lot of people still don't know what a furry is unless they come across one by chance or go out of their way to find furry porn.

Anyone on Reddit, 4chan, tumblr, 9gag, Something Awful, etc. knows what a furry is. The bulk of internet users are on some media platform where enough users know what it is that they spread the information.
>>
It was pretty huge in video games too, just a wasteland of anthropomorphic mascots with 'tude.
>>
>>78331512
Atleast entourage and the abc's of death made them cool
>>
>>78326141
whats the definition of furry now?
>>
>>78326141
How did we go from interesting anthro animal characters to my special snowfalke sparkle dog oc?
>>
>>78331538
I have friends who barely even browse the internet beyond youtube and social media, and even they know what furries are.
>>
>>78331631
the bulk of internet users are on facebook and snapchat. those are all minority communities
>>
>>78332151

Snapchat is basically texting, I don't think you can count it as a community. Even Facebook, if they know just one weird guy, there they have it. Certainly anyone who went to high school or middle school in the double oh's knows.

We have some now too.
>>
furries are the people who grew up watching those animal cartoons
>>
>>78330491
>>78326361
That doesn´t prove it ended because of one guy. It is just speculation based on a creepy motherfucker. There were probably many much more important factors for WB to stop making the show.
>>
>>78328622
Oh shit, I remember this guy. Wasn't his handle Biohazard or something?
