What's the holiday where CN just plays Iron Giant all day?

Do they still do that?

There's always a chance that it's wrong; DirecTV had some of their programming today listed as being pretty much their normal lineup but it was Christmas programming. Well, to the extent that Elf on the Shelf qualifies.

>>78326120

It used to be Thanksgiving but I don't think they've done that in a decade.
>>
You can't even say "Merry Christmas" in public without people feeling offended. Of course there'd be no Christmas specials on TV anymore.

CN was taken over by Satan a little over a decade ago. This sort of thing does not surprise me.

the guy who runs the CN scheduling (Vishnu) has made the schedule go way downhill since joining in 2014. Literally the only special from the 2000s they still air is Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer.

Also TBS aired How the Grinch Stole Christmas twice but CN isn't airing it at all. What kind of backwards fucking logic is that?

BUT it looks like they changed Christmas Eve's schedule.
According to TitanTV it's this now.
6:00am - TTG (normal)
6:30am - Transformers (as usual)
7:00am - Pokemon (normal)
7:30am - TTG mini-marathon (normal)
9:00am - Grandma Got Assimilated by a Reindeer
10:00am - Scooby-Doo! Haunted Holidays
10:30am - Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! Christmas episode
11:00am - Tom & Jerry: Santa's Little Helpers
11:30am - Smurfs Christmas Carol
12:00pm - Frozen in Time
1:00pm - Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale
2:00pm - TTG mini-marathon (not even Christmas episodes what the hell)
3:30pm - Regular Show (Snow Tubing and New Year's Kiss, not even the half hour Christmas episode)
4:00pm - Adventure Time (2015 Christmas ep)
4:30pm - Uncle Grandpa (1 Christmas episode and 1 normal)
5:00pm - Elf on the Shelf
5:30pm - Smurfs Christmas Carol again
6:00pm - TTG for an hour (only the first half hour is Christmas episodes)
7:00pm - WBB (no Christmas episodes for some reason)

Yeah, you must live in New England or California.

Anything north or near a major city, you just say whatever your own holiday is. Any response of "you too" is taken to mean their holiday.

Then in the south if it's anything other than Merry Christmas you're being offensive to the other person. If it's Happy Hanukkah, then you're basically the kid on the short bus. Good luck surviving to New Years if you even mention Ramadan.
>>
>>78327534
>Ramadan
Is that one of them Chinese cartoons about the card games?
>>
>>78327309
and Christmas Day:
6:00am - TTG (normal)
6:30am - Transformers (normalllll)
7:00am - Pokemon (normal!)
7:30am - Tom & Jerry: The Lost Dragon
9:00am - Tom & Jerry: Santa's Little Helpers
9:30am - Scooby-Doo! Haunted Holdays
10:00am - Smurfs Christmas Carol
10:30am - Uncle Grandpa (the half hour Christmas Special)
11:00am - TTG (the Christmas episodes)
11:30am - Gumball (2 christmas episodes)
12:00pm - Over the Hedge (Christmas is dead)
2:00pm - 3 hour TTG marathon (fuck)
5:00pm - LEGO Specials til the end of the day

meanwhile Boomerang has a ton of specials. even rarer shit like "Christmas Comes to Pac-Land"
and their New Years Eve/Day stuff are neat, too. Eve has a big Scooby marathon with several shows (even Mystery Incorporated!) and a Looney Tunes marathon on Day.

No, it's Muslim Hanukkah. Fasting, small gifts that are specified by tradition, and feeling left out as a kid at school.

Third generation Muslims who's parents don't visit them/get visits from them add Santa to it.
Just like Hanukkah.

It's why I just downloaded every Christmas Special I could remember. We have a spare computer hooked up to the Living Room TV for Netflix, and I put them on there for my family. They've been watching them all December. That way, it's only our own fault if we miss any.

speaking of Boomerang, may as well share that schedule.
Christmas Eve
6:00am - Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale
7:00am - Christmas Comes to Pacland
7:30am - Casper's First Christmas
8:00am - A Flintstones Family Christmas

1:00pm - Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale AGAIN, at the same time as CN
2:00pm - Tom & Jerry: Santa's Little Helpers
2:30pm - The Naughty List (I don't know what this one is)
3:30pm - A Johnny Bravo Christmas
4:00pm - Chowder "Hey, Hey, It's Knishmas"
4:30pm - A Christmas Story (something about a dog and mouse)
5:00pm - Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale YET AGAIN
6:00pm - Foster's Home Christmas Special: A Lost Claus
6:30pm - Horton Hears a Who (is this Christmasy?)
7:00pm - Smurfs Christmas Special (old)
7:30pm - Smurfs Christmas Carol (new)
8:00pm - A Christmas Story again
8:30pm - Casper's First Christmas again
9:00pm - Frozen in Time
10:00pm - Powerpuff Girls special again
11:00pm - A Flintstones Christmas Carol
12:30am - Yogi's First Christmas
2:30am - Flintstones Family Christmas repeat
3:00am - The two Smurfs specials again
4:00am - Foster's special again
4:30am - repeat of LTS
5:00am - repeat of Sylvester/Tweety
>>
>>78338485
Christmas Day
6:00am - Casper's First Christmas again
6:30am - the three garfield episodes again
7:30am - A Christmas Story
8:00am - Flintstones Christmas Carol
9:30am - Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale
10:30am - Tom & Jerry: Santa's Little Helpers
11:00am - Powerpuff Girls: Twas the Fight again
12:00pm - Grandpa's Gonna Sue the Pants off of Santa
1:00pm - Regular schedule

so... yeah, despite all the fucking repeats, there's still way more variety than CN. Their New Years marathons are pretty interesting, too, but I think I already talked about that.

Cartoon Network is absolute shit, and has been for ages. They also show Teen Titans Go on Boomerang, which is just confusing. Even when Boomerang did have Popeye, it was the shitty Korean colorized ones replacing the B&W shorts because of TED MOTHERFUCKING TURNER.

You think they'll give him the boot once they realize that this has actually been hurting growth for their shows, especially the newer ones from '13 onwards?

>>
>>78341492
It gives higher, flash in the pan ratings but keeps the shows from growing steadily and makes it harder to keep the continued interest of the target demographic.

It'd actually work fine if they did smart reruns of their big series, ala DBZ a decade ago, but instead they give most of their slots to stuff like TTG because "it does well" (not considering being on all the time might be a factor of this).

Californian who lives in the San fransisco Bay Area here, this /pol/-tard probably acts like a victimized passive aggressive tool (ex:merry Christmas, heh oops I mean [rolls eyes] happy holidays) when he says merry Christmas, because no one here gives a shit.
Most people 'round here say merry Christmas, only non-Christians who have a religion, someone semi-naively trying to be nice to a stranger, or people who went to a UC school would bother with only saying "Happy Holidays". I work in retail so I'd fucking know.
It's not like there's a legal mandate on holiday greetings, you fucking Kraut, people don't like you because you're an unwashed faggot, not because you said merry Christmas. Fucking hate this "WAR ON MUH CHRISTIAN HOLIDAY" bullshit. Go lynch an Oakland citizen and cry about the evil oppressive liberal conspiracy, it's about your speed.

Christmas Eve

5-6:30AM Spongebob (Two are the Christmas specials, two more are pre-movie episodes)
6:30AM Wallykazam! (special)
7-8AM PAW Patrol (None Christmas Snow themed episodes)
8:00AM Mutt and Stuff (special)
8:30AM Bubble Guppies (special)
9:00AM Team Umizoomi (special)
9:30AM PAW Patrol (special)
10:00AM Blaze and the Monster Machines (special)
10:30AM Alvin and the Chipmunks (regular episode)
11-1PM Spongebob (specials and snow themed episodes)
1:30-3PM Santa Hunters
3-4PM Alvin and the Chipmunks (regular episodes again)
4-5PM Nickelodeon's Ho Ho Holiday Special
5-6PM Spongebob (specials again)
6-9PM Hugo

Texan here, that's pretty true.

I've never seen someone get mad about being told "merry Christmas" or "have a blessed holiday", but every third person who says that feels the need to follow it up with bitching about these non-existent offended people.

Which is awkward because it's basically the person admitting that they told you to have a merry Christmas partially out of spite for someone else.
