Yeah, I actually agree. I was worried about her being a little overpowered, esp. compared to the lead cast, but I'm having some trouble coming up with an appropriate tier 2 ideas. I like the tier system, but it's definitely a challenge.
I haven't had the time to write up much regarding the setting. On first realizing their powers, I imagine there would first be the inevitable freakout. After that, I think it would depend on the individuals and their relationships as to how likely they'd be to disclose info (The kids would probably share fairly readily, while Stan would keep his a secret as long as he could). Once a real threat appeared, however, the Shack Crew would come together pretty quickly to defend themselves and the town (villains, something else I need to work on).
I also need to decide how widespead the phenomenon was and how many were affected. That could play a role in how long the existence of powers could be hidden from the greater population. Of course, a secret that big couldn't be kept from the townspeople forever...

What's strange about Ford's "tragic" backstory was that he actually got exactly what he wanted, in spite of the science fair incident . If he'd gone to West Coast Tech, he would have been expected to be involved in practical science/technology, and studies in the supernatural would have likely been frowned upon.
