Remember when Celebrities* used to get their own cartoon series? There used to be quite a few of them over the last few decades; Just off the top of my head I can think of The Beatles, Gary Coleman, Mr. T, MC Hammer (pic related), Roseanne Barr, even New Kids on the Block got their own show**.
Do they still make celebrity cartoons? The last one I can think of is Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi and that was early 2000's. Have there been any in the last 10 years?
I'm not interested in cameos or guest appearances that take place in someone else's series (eg Adam West in Family Guy, the Simpsons) or cartoons with celebrity voice cast (Over the Garden Wall had Elijah Wood, Christopher Lloyd and John Cleese), or even shows loosely based on a celebrity (Sgt Bilko/Top Cat). It has to be a show where a celebrity (or a character based on them - again, pic related) is the main character. They don't even have to do the voice themselves, it just to be about them.
If you were going to give a contemporary celebrity their own cartoon series, who would it be and what would it be about?
*for a certain value of 'Famous Person'. Also this isn't the place to debate who should and shouldn't have celebrity status.
**I pity the fool who doesn't know who any of these are.
Anita sarkessians feminist adventures
I know it would suck as a series, but part of me wishes we were still going to get this.

Sorry for the lack of audio, I can't find a version that still has it.

That new Netflix cartoon, F Is For Family, is kind of like that for comedian Bill Burr.
Was told he didn't do any boxing in the cartoon
>>78268178
Can you expand on that? Who are the supporting cast and what would they do?
>>78268269
What's the source on that? Unproduced pilot?
>>78268299
YES! How could I forget about this? I even watched the first season.
Coming soon: pewdiepie the animated series
Here's the Gary Coleman Show.
He's an angel who gets sent to Earth to help others.

I'm pretty sure The Governator was going to be a real series, but then there was the scandal about him knocking up his maid, or something like that, so I think it was put on hold for good.
Rick Moranis in Gravedale High.
(Ghoul School Vs Gravedale High - who would win?)
This show was really fuckin' bad, like a low rent South Park. Only funny thing in it was Ken Kannif
Celebrity cartoons seemed to die out at the same time as "Take R-Rated movie and give it a cartoon" shows
>>78268518
like the Robocop one?
Didn't Napoleon Dynamite get a cartoon?
>>78268503
This shit was hilarious.

You know, there's something I have to wonder about. Those aren't his kids I'm sure, so how do they get into that basement/lab? Does he just keep them there all the time? That's pretty messed up.
>>78268574
Yes, but Napoleon is a character in the film, not a real live famous person, so I will have to disallow it.
On the subject of films, I present Rover Dangerfield instead.
I prefer celebrity comics.
>>78268142
You forgot about Hulk Hogan cartoon and the Olsen twins cartoon.
What about a cartoon with a comedy star tells a story about this childhood? Life with Louie comes to mind.
>>78269192
Good point - let's open this up to the other side of /co/: Are there any comic books based on celebrities?
I know that there are some comicbook biographies around, such as the Bluewater Productions ones, but I'll put them on the side for now. Try and find ones where the celebrity is the star of original stories.
KISS had their own comic books over the years, from several different publishers.
>>78269307
Yes, comes under 'character based on celebrity'.
>>78268433
the villain was named Hornswaggle.
>>78268503
>this art was approved
>>78268488
I forgot about this show whow.
The Rosy and Buddy show special is pretty great.
The little Rosey show I remember but not that it was canceled cause they wanted more boys in it. The special is basically the fuck you to the execs who canceled it with Rosey and Buddy fucking with cartoon land.
Dan betty & veronica clinic, lmao
The Jackie Chan's one was awesome, I remember.
>>78268142
arnold schwarzenegger almost had a cartoon called The Govenater made by Stan Lee. Then the scandal happened.
>>78269307
>You forgot about Hulk Hogan cartoon
Who? What is this name you speak of?
>>78272856
Obviously it was a crossover between Hogan's Heroes and Marvel Comics' own jolly green giant.
Andre 3000 had a toon I think
>>78269484
>Are there any comic books based on celebrities?
Pat Boone, Bob Hope and Jerry Lewis all had comic book series of their own published by DC

I seem to recall it being kinda ok.
>>78277535

Nobody else remembers John Candy's stab at his own animated show? Damn.
>>78283102
those don't count, they weren't based on Jim Carry, just movies he was in. he also didn't play himself in any of them
>>78279162
Wow, the amount of awful in that Pro Stars Intro song.
Almost as bad at the Jerry Lewis intro.
Serious cringe, I had no idea.
>>78283889
I remember there was Camp Candy show, though I don't remember anything about it. I feel like it is similar to Camp Lazlo.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrQ8NHz6T4Q
That intro was okay. OKAY. Until the end, when that last held off key note skyrockets this into cringe territory.
I'm wondering if I knew these were bad as a kid.
