I think the difference between /sveg/ and other cartoon generals (sounds like the military all of the sudden...) is that here, for the most part, people just accept that SvsTFOE is just a cute and somewhat funny show, is mostly entertaining than anything else. It's nothing super amazing but it's also not Johnny Test
While some other generals are warring over their show being THE BEST CARTOON CURRENTLY ON AIR and trying to justify their opinion.

How they start season 2 off will be important for the season as a whole I think. They could go either way, in a direct follow up from the season 1 finale or just jumping into a random scenario related to the powered down wand.
What will be interesting to see is how they re-introduce/replace the Ludo spot for problem to solve on a regular basis. That's the kind of thing which either needs setup if it'll be another recurring villain, or more creativity in different problems encountered. Personally I'd love the second option, one of the real highlights of Interdimensional Field Trip was the unique enemy they faced.

I think a large number do actually have resolution if relationships are ever a big part/mentioned aspect of the show. But it's dotted about here and there as usually stuff like that is just for cute moments, nothing committed or built up over a long period, such as Katara and Aang were.
In my eyes it has to be one of the two, but depending on the type of ending they go for will be key. A happy ending, which seems most likely will in all likelihood have to have that Starco side to it to divert from the whole Star going back to Mewnie deal. On the other hand the open ending works more for a bittersweet finale, where the fact that they cant stay together is brought up and possibly happens, wouldn't be fair to have the relationship happen only to cut it down, best to leave the positive aspects to it there and allow them other options going forwardreal world adventures with Janna when? (likely never)

The old archive every used was archive mode, but it's currently out of commission, and we lost about 4 months worth of archives.

There's a theory ontumblrabout what this might mean. It seems a little in-depth for this show, but the gist is that (obviously) the star and sun symbols represent Star and Marco, with Marco's possibly being what the wand would look like if he held it, and the moon is the blood moon. The soulbonding thing that apparently happened at the end of that episode was therefore real, and the St. O's image is a prophecy depicting it.
Toffee is somehow aware of the prophecy (maybe he's connected to it as well, what with the reptilian statues in the same room) and that it has been set in motion, which is why he appears in the episode immediately after Blood Moon Ball to set up his own plans. His overall goal is something concerning the cleaving of the wand, which somehow ties into the prophecy-- maybe setting Star and Marco up for future conflict.
The full theory gets a little too specific (http://svtfoeheadcanons.tumblr.com/post/129933285562/toffee-and-the-prophecyif you're curious), but I think the really general points described in this post have a decent chance of occurring.

But anon, the last time it happened it left a really bad taste in my mouth because it involved changing one of the two characters almost completely.
It happened in Shakugan no Shana where the male lead went from a very kind and protective friend much like Marco to a complete and utter douchebag.
What I would like to see is for Marco to give destined battle the middle finger and straight up end the conflict one way or another.
