The point isn't unseen, it's unremarked. You can still notice Clark, but to try and say he could be Superman, that's the absurd part. If you're unremarkable it's more obvious you might be laying low.
It's not a wrong interpretation, but it's looking at the wrong parts of the mythos and assuming the wrong reasons.

Bruce likes to brood alone and for the most part Clark gives him his space unless it's really bad then he'll go and try to talk to him.
But at the slightest sign that Clark is feeling down or troubled, Bruce is always there trying to make him talk it out and tell him, especially in the New 52 what with Bruce being older as well.
