I see no flaws at all in this plan.
Bird magic is very complicated.
As if this wasn't tainted with enough bullshit, it's Samus's thoughts of the Metroid hatchling that made her lower her guard. She just loves that adorable thing. I remember when my mother shipped me to a bunch of scientists to perform their experiments on me. She was such a loving mother.
Ass crack sandwich? Jelly-filled donut? Who knows.
Finally some ass-kicking worthy of the scourge of the space pirates.
Guess Metroids aren't so powerful after all.
So what did we have? Samus feeling motherly about the Metroid to the point of distraction, Ridley hacking the research station's computers, a sidekick that gets Samus out of trouble, bird magic, Metroid getting killed by a dinky laser gun instead of Mother Brain's omega blast, and Samus killing Mother Brain without any help from the hatchling.
This destroys Super Metroid lore almost as thoroughly as Other M. Almost.

I'm afraid that's not true. The most recent investor meeting had them put Samus on a graphic with their other properties and she's in her Other M suit, and it's not the one from Smash, it's the actual suit from Other M. I think they understand that people really dislikes Other M, but at the same time they refuse to admit it. Ultimately we'll have to see where the series goes. Sakamoto is still has control of the series anyway.

From the last time he had an interview about Metroid, he said when him & his team does make another Metroid it would be a sequel to Fusion. We still don't know what his team is doing, but I hope it's Metroid Fusion's sequel. I also hope they fix her height in the next Metroid, since Samus was always around the same height as her suit. You could compare her power suit & zero suit sprites in Zero Mission for clarification.

This is a good question, if the Chozo were an advanced warlike species in the past, who were they at war with? It has to be a species that was just as advance as they were, & was a massive threat to the Galaxy. Maybe in a future game it's a possibility that this mysterious species could return & wreak havoc on the Galaxy again with only Samus being able to stop them.

Not necessarily. They could easily have been at war with each other for total hegemony. A species wide civil war could well explain why there are so few of them around by the time Samus shows up on the scene.

They really need to explain the Chozo's past. I want to know everything: their culture, their background, their religion, their politics, & their military it's time.
