Honestly, I'm glad people got butthurt by this episode, it's a completely appropriate punishment for still watching the show at this point. It never bothered me because I didn't watch it, because I was smart enough to realize the show I loved was gone forever and because I loved it too much to watch them continue to abuse its corpse
I want the show to be as bad as possible and to keep on getting even worse, I want the people who've kept this show on life support long after it was clearly dead and time to pull the plug to suffer as much as possible

Really, I don't know why music is Lisa's thing, she's not even that good at it, she's at best slightly above average (and that's after years of practicing). Then you have Bart who is capable of writing songs with ease and mastered an instrument within a day of first coming in contact with it.
There's also one episode where Homer wants to write a song and Lisa barges in saying music isn't that easy, when any trace of musical ability she has, she got it from Homer, hell, it was implied even her smarts came from Homer, before it got retconned to come from Marge in later seasons
