you can still farm for the other special mission heroes, while not top tier, Nebula, Yondu and Drax are nice to have as 6* chars, the cost is too little. Special missions are also a nice place to train your low level heroes, and you never know if those heroes may receive a buff that makes them top tier.
Nebula and Yondu have some very high dps, it's just a matter of doing some little fixes and give them some nice 6* skills and they would be a lot better. Drax... well, Drax needs a lot more so I would understand if you don't feel the need to farm for him.

I just got this a bit ago in game (and the Mastery, too), so I finally have my first six star! He's the one I picked as my freebie level 30 3-star, so I did have a bit of a headstart with him, but that was for the best since he's slower to farm than a lot of the others.
I'm still working on Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Widow - they should all be 6 star by the start of next year. Then I'm not sure what I'll do, it's taken most of my free energy just getting all these guys' bios daily.

Caps AoU uni is barely any different from his default one. It barely takes any thought to design a "modern, realistic take" on a superheroes costume.

Maybe Steve is a bad example. Look at Daredevil. Everything seems to updated and stylized to the point where the designers try to make it believable, but it just ends up looking stiff and uncomfortable.

Once I save up enough crystals I'm planning to lastly get Winter Soldier Cap.
Originally I was only planning to get Ms. Marvel and Gamora uni. But since I discovered Gamora's uni isn't universal, nor has any unique additions aside from appeal and that mediocre bleed. I decided not to get it. Also the other unis seemed more beneficial like Spidey's shock damage or Black Bolt's semi power-up, or even Nico's fire.
New War machine is a no go. As it just looks "meh" to me.

It's possible to 'cheat' since story missions (and others) and done offline and then the synced to the server at the end of the mission. If you know what to do, you could change the values of whatever goes on in the mission and then it'll apply to your account when it checks with the server at the end of the mission. But obviously it'll be easy to pick up if you mess around too much.

Ironically, this update is what got me to get my alt for Ultron. I had been putting it off because I don't like the looks of Prime or Junk but Mark 3 was the least useful despite being the coolest.
All the spiders convinces me to just go with the Mark 3. I love how he shoots the lasers out of his fingers.
Also got the ANAD Spidey since general consensus from people seems to be that its the best one. So far I have mixed feelings about it. Didn't realise the shock REPLACED the webs, which to me makes it seem less useful but I haven't really gotten too much of a chance to playtest it. Just hoping it's useful in 3* BW since that's what I use Spidey for.
Was going to get Gamora's since it looks awesome but it seems pretty useless outside of the stat boost. Also thinking about getting Black Bolt. We'll see how I'm feeling as the week winds down.

All you have to do is participate in the alliance battles if possible, and otherwise just play the game normally. It's almost impossible not to get in that weekly xp. There's only very little more you could do if you had a variety of high level characters, just pitch in the minimum, you should be able to do it right from the start.
