Power Rangers Lost Galaxy is the first one that's ,more or less, not connected to the previous continuity that ended with In Space. So, now each subsequent series is pretty much makes the franchise an anthology. The older rangers get cameo'd in some later seasons like Jason David Frank being the Black Ranger at one point (no mention of being a MMPR) or with crossover ep.
Only one thing that ties them, "ranger grid/matrix/whatever", so most seasons have the current cast knowing what a Power Ranger is before they get the powers.
Power Rangers Megaforce, the second Nickelodeon series blasts through two seasons of 2 different consecutive Sentai series and apparently situates itself back into MMPR through Zordon's protege.

MMPR seasons 1-3 (Alien Rangers, BTW is the last dozen episodes of season 3, but for bullshit reasons, Saban has started considering it basically S3.5), Zeo, Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, Turbo, and In Space are the watching order for the OG incarnation of Power Rangers. The first MMPR movie is non-canon but the Turbo movie IS canon and has to be watched after Zeo because the Turbo season takes place after the events of the second movie.
After In Space, the show retooled to be stand-alone seasons, though every year there would be a "crossover" between the new season and the previous season (this was due to there being a yearly "X-Over" movie between sentai shows).
Of the X-Overs, the only one that is really must see is the Time Force/Wild Force X-Over in Wild Force.
Order for these seasons is Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, Wild Force.
Disney bought the franchise halfway through production of Wild Force. Wild Force also has Forever Red, which canonizing a fan fiction story/prank called "Scars of Serpentera" which was fan fiction as "bumper segments" that explain away what happened to the Zeo Zords and Serpentera.
Ninja Storm is stand alone but Dino Force brought forth Tommy returning as a ratings stunt for the season. It's also got an anniversary episode (IIRC 500th episode?) which basically was a huge recap episode that handwaved the red ranger of dino thunder's actor appearing in ninja force as his "cousin" and revealed that Tommy was aware of the In Space-Ninja Storm versions of the team.

There were three villains. One was an bug-octopuss-looking space mobster shit called Scorpius or something. He gets tricked by one of his lieutenants who got ambitious and killed by the rangers. His daughter drifts aimlessly for a while and is rescued by another monster who teaches her to be strong and become a lawful villain. There's a plot device in the bad guys' side that's a cocoon of some sort, who'd make you more powerful but change your personality to way more evil. The daughter tries to avoid it but through shenanigans ends up fused with the treacherous lieutenant and becomes truly evil. Fucks up the guy ho trained her. And then in the finale she uses it again to become a supermonster while blowing up and crashing the space colony everyone lives in against a planet, and Red needs to fight her off in a race against time before it all goes up in flames.

Oh, and there's a mini arc in which the use a space magic book to bend space and enter the Lost Galaxy itself, and spend some episodes trying to escape it.
