Nickelodeon is so stupid that their airing an 8 hour AATC marathon on December 19th. Thats the movie's opening weekend... Nick is also airing movie commercials with them singing "I Like Big Butts and I Cannot Lie." Gee, I wonder how that will appeal to parents. Nick is doing EVERYTHING WRONG when trying to promote this movie.
Man haven't you noticed their master setup though? Releasing the same day as Star Wars. This will fuck with every movie theatre, starfags will move into Alvin by mistake, tickets accidentally sold to Alvin and not SW.

Fourth, this franchise has defied the usual Talking animal sequels. Usually first sequels to talking animal movies make 40%-60% less than their first. Like for example, Garfield in 2004 made $75m and Garfield 2 in 2006 made $28m.
Alvin has defied the trend by having the first sequel in 2009 make as much money as the first movie. $217m first movie. $219m 2nd movie.
The 3rd Alvin movie made 40% less than the 1st and 2nd movies with $133m. Still enough for another sequel.

Star Wars is desperate. They're throwing all of their money into the most insane possible marketing schemes they can because they know Road Chip is going to blow them out of the water and the only chance they have is to throw all their weight into marketing.
It'll all be in vain. Alvin's going to dominate the box office. J.J. Abrams has been pleading with Disney executives to move the release date to January because he knows there is no way this will end well for them. True, Star Wars is moderately anticipated, but that won't be enough to survive against a box office juggernaut. Who the fuck will want to see The Force Awakens when they can watch Chipmunks 4?
It's over. Disney have shot themselves in the foot, and all the money they're throwing into advertising is going to backfire on them when it fails to make a dent and they'll have thrown all that cash away to support a movie that won't break even. I almost feel bad for them.
