Is this movie any good?
>>
No. It's screaming and "wacky noises".
>>
>>78156678
Better than I thought it would be. 6/10.
>>
>>78156678
Better than it should be, considering how easy it would've been to make it bad.
>>
Good enough. Batman is edgemaster incarnate.
And he ends up keked, can't believe it.
>>
I see a lot of cat unicorn thing around here is it making fun of mlp?
>>
Shockingly good. They took a decent concept relating to LEGO, the idea of "master builders" that can control the production of the world. They created unique, likeable characters different from their already vast line of choices, and added in familiar ones like Batman himself, and they interact well.

Then they flip the bitch on its head toward the end with some live action that really speaks to the heart of the product.

"How the fuck are they gonna make a movie about Legos?" This is how. You'd think Pixar made it.
>>
>>78156678
It didn't have any right to be this good
>>
>>78156827
surprisingly its actually a compelling character with a decent amount of depth

>>
>>78158852
those few seconds of the astronauts was one of the scenes that was done in stop-motion, with the directors' own Legos
>>
The thing is I'm a non conformist so when this movie came out and everyone started glossing over it kinda made me feel a bit cynicial. Towards legos. I never liked ninjago and they make so many games. It all just came off as product placement with a story and catchy song.
Then I started bashing httyd2 because of similar reasons, nothing but praise. Starting to realise I'm to quick to judge things by thier cover.

And by nonconformist I mean I kinda hate things that are popular and mainstream so I call them. Then I found out Will Pharrell is in this so that's a plus. I thinks he's alright. Inb4 this isn't my blog.

Something being mainstream doesn't necessarily make it bad and something being obscure doesn't necessarily make it better than anything else.

Hope you will realize this when you are old enough to post here. Unless you already are an adult then you got no excuse.

Thanks for the pasta though.

Okay, let's not go that far. Unikitty was a pretty cool character, but only because of her unrealistically extra-cheerful writing/acting done SO well. Her depth consists entirely of "can be sad, but tries hard not to be".
>>
>>78156678
Opinion on it can vary quite a lot. Some think it's AMAZING, others think it's only 'pretty good'.

One thing I think everyone can agree on, though, is that it's better than Inside Out. So take that as the lowest benchmark.

On the topic of /v/: The Lego Movie Videogame was sorta good, but just not up to par with the other modern Lego games. You should only get it if you already have the other recent (ie: voice acted) ones.
>>
>>78165916
I picked it up the other night, because fuck it it was 10 bucks. It's alright, I feel better buying that than Lego Dimensions, but the sheer number of properties that I care about in that thing means i'll probably crack sometime.

I am annoyed at how there is no good R34 Unikitty. It's all either regular Lego Unikitty's model with added 'features', or it's a typical DeviantArt furry-girl with Unikitty colouring. Nobody's done it in a way that doesn't feel exceptionally lazy.

>>78166337
It genuinely is. But it's also HIDEOUSLY expensive.
>>
>>78156678

It's exactly what the Lego Movie should have been.
>>
It was great. It had a lot of lolsorandum ahit, but it didn't detract from the charm. In a lot of ways it did present itself like a kids imagination would work.

The way it was done was the only way it could've been done with maintaining a overall good movie; they used stigmas that surround Lego as a product iself, which is the two regions of play vs hobby.

>>
>>78166576

The prices are comparable to Skylanders and Disney Infinity. At least Dimensions uses actual bricks and minifigures.
>>
>>78166765
It's hideous...but I can have Doc Brown and the Doctor in Springfield, and I legitimately like the Lego games, or the few that i've played.
>>
It's ogrerated. Still enjoyable though.
>>
>>78166774
Hell you can even use the stands in a MOC.
>>
I am SO hoping that, when the game stops selling, they'll release the whole thing as one affordable "No physical parts though" bundle.

That'd be great.

>>78166816
Heads up, by the way: the Simpsons level is basically the worst of the lot.

What's it like having such shit taste?
>>
>>78159757
the first step is realizing you have a problem, you have completed step one

your personal tastes should not be dictated by the approval rating of others. I'm not saying tune them out entirely, if everyone and their mother is recommending something, might be worth a look...if everyone agrees something is shit, it might be shit.

That being said
>>I think the Dark Knight Rises is hot garbage
>>I loved Man of Steel and John Carter
>>Loved the Lego Movie
>>Hate(most) the X-men films, cant understand how anyone liked days of future past

So you just gotta love what you love and hate what you hate, because if you go with mainstream or against it, your still letting them dictate what you enjoy.
>>
>>78167027
I haven't watch this movie except for the trailer, cinema sins, how this movie is like the matrix comparrison, and have gone to lego stores and made them sing everything is awesome 50 Times while they danced.
>>
>>78166389
You can just download build instructions from the internet.
>>
>Lego makes the best fucking games
>movies based on those games are garbage

>They release a full fucking movie and it's great

How
>>
>>78159023
Not a sequel, a Lego Batman spinoff
>>
Would you hotglue Wyldstyle
>>
>>78168294

We're getting both. The sequel will be in 2018.
>>
I just finished watching it like five seconds ago. It was bretty good. Much better than I thought it would be.
>>
>>78166774
Are you kidding me?

The games are thirty bucks less and the games have some modicum of replay, especially DI. Not so with LD.
>>
>>78168187
Variety of reasons: not enough scenes to make 15 levels without filler, all-lego levels probably ate through the budget, Cloud Kekoo Land was the antithesis to everything Lego Games does well and didn't make a good level, and the movie wasn't action-based enough to make a good action-based game off of.

Although to be fair, it's not garbage. And Lego Batman 1 (debatably) and Lego Indiana Jones 1/2 (definitely) are still worse. It's just that, with so many Lego games out, you'll have to play through several of them before you reach the point where this one's worth getting.
>>
>>78168522

The additional characters are similar in price, is what I meant, but I should have clarified.
>>
>>78168695
Oh. Yeah, thats true.
