It's not as bad as it could be because the original plan was to have Homer and Marge's separation be an arc that stretched across most of the season and he dates LD's character, but someone on the writing staff was disgusted enough at her that they nixed the idea. They hastily redid the script so Homer dating her is really just a dream sequence and Lena only did one episode when she was scheduled for about 5-6. She was pretty butthurt about it, although in compensation they paid her for all the episodes she was supposed to do.
