It's interesting that, despite a scene where an axe is embedded in the abdomen of a perfectly human-looking fake Wendy, Into the Bunker didn't earn a FV rating while Weirdmageddon I did. If it has to happen, a one-sided crush on Pacifica's end that leaves the door open to a future relationship would make the most sense. With all the symbolism in this one background, there's a Pine Tree symbol on the trash can, it was possibly originally printed on the trash can, but since it's the same color and not black, it looks like it could be new with everything else. Gravity falls is nothing like lost. There aren't any plot-integral 'mysteries' left. After The Last Mabelcorn all the big questions were answered. Now it's more like a traditional action/adventure show. It's impossible for there to be a lost style letdown because there's no more big mysteries to reveal. (And no, "what's up with the cipher wheel" doesn't count as a big mystery. It's an image in a single frame of the theme song. It's never been part of the plot)

Before you actually saw the show, what did you think it would be like? How was the actual show different?
I mentioned this here before, but I started watching the show pretty late. I thought it was about a summer camp with a lot of kids competing in camp competitions. I thought Bill actually looked like the bishie guy in the suit and that he was their camp counselor who was really sketchy.

My impression of the show wasn't a very good one. All I had seen fandom-wise was the slenderman hoax, and I knew that 14 year olds on tumblr were obsessed with it, along with Over the Garden Wall and SU. I figured it was shit because of that, plus it was produced by Disney for kids. I had no clue there was a mystery/conspiracy theme going on.

Mabel doesn't get called out enough anymore. It happens a lot that characters like Pacifica get to be interesting because they're not supposed to be perfect, I think. Everybody doesn't love them, so and they are allowed to be shitty people. So when they change and grow it's very satisfying.
I think Mabel could have been good but lately the plot has treated her a bit like she can do no wrong. The other characters criticized Pacifica from day 1. So she was forced to change and grow. The last episode as everyone says would have been the perfect time to do it for Mabel (and have her work to overcome and make up for mistakes) and I think everyone would feel very differently about her right now if it had.
Also NMM was just a really great episode. Kind of like you still see a fuckton of Bipper fanart because SO was a pretty great episode, too.

Looking back, it should have been obvious this problem would occur eventually. Mabel is ultimately the character who represents the status quo and normal society, though that took me a long time to figure out since she's an eccentric goof as well, in comparison to Dipper's natural desire to explore the unknown and seek truth.
Anyone should be able to realize that most fans of a work of fiction will come to appreciate the character who wants to plunge headfirst into the strange and the unknown than the one whose main goal is to chase boys and go to high school.

I kind of feel like this was a little too much hype setting for what actually came. In my mind, what happened in Not What He Seems was not what felt like they were setting up with this scene. I thought something way more intense was going to happen, even though NWHS was pretty awesome.
Something tells me the finale is what delivers. Hear me out.
We've all been "let down" by the constant "well that didn't go anywhere" scenarios, like the Trust No One phrase, Dipper and Mabel's fallout, and some other things.
I do believe that Trust No One comes back as the major plot device. Since Mabel trusted Stan, Ford is now back in Gravity Falls, this set off a chain of events that made a ton of stuff happen, plus whatever happens in the finale. This might be elaborated on more in the episode itself, but hopefully you understand what I'm getting at.
And of course, we know Dipper and Mabel made up in the last episode, but Bill is a master of manipulating anyone he sets his goal to do it to. We might get another scene like [pic related] or Bill making a fake Mabel to trick Dipper (or vice versa) into doing something irrational.
We have an hour long episode ahead of us, there's time for a delivery on what's been promised in-show, and it's already been said it won't answer everything, and the answers are in the upcoming book, so that's probably why, because they're delivering on things character wise.
