This is a comic by Europeans, for Europeans.
American would never accept a positive portrayal of a communist.
The biblethumping madmen are another issue. But last time I checked, everybody loved that scene from Kingsman. So it's probably more the former than the later.
Interestingly enough most review sites on the internet are also weirdly divided on it.
Some are calling it lighthearted and fresh, while others think it's just messy and cliched.
Personally, I thought it was nice so far.
Although you could have a lot more fun with the idea of the Soviets trying to win the hearts and minds of the Imperialist West by installing a real life superhero there.
It could be a lot more satirical.
