>Rewatching the movie
>This still wins me over
>>
>>78137532
It was a good movie. I cried manly tears at the end.
>>
>>78137532
Most underrated Disney movie ever. I swear, this better get the sequel it deserves.
>>
>>78137532
Front-loading the first 20 minutes with video game cameos and then nothing after that was so clunky. Almost makes me wish they didn't go for cameos at all. Almost.
>>
>>78137603
Blame Brave.
>>
>>78137807
That was such a pile of shit. I still can't believe Brave beat this.
>>
>>78137532
>Out of all possible iconic video game villains, they chose Neff from Altered Beast
This still baffles me
>>
>>78137955
The Academy doesn't give a shit about animated movies and just picks the safest choice. This is usually Pixar.
>>
>>78138352
>brave killed WiR
>lego movie didn't even get NOMINATED
I'm still mad.
>>
>>78137532
>Zangief is a villain

They just assumed the Russian was a bad guy and then tried to bullshit some "He was a villain to me personally because I couldn't beat him."
>>
Great movie, kind of wish it wasn't heavy on sugar rush.
>>
>>78138526
Wasn't the movie marketed in Japan as just Sugar Rush or something like that?
>>
>>78138548
Actually yeah that was the title outside the US in some areas. Kind of wish there was some world hopping or at least Mortal Kombat
>>
>>78138407
I think it got a nomination for the song or i'm just mixing things up?
>>
>>78138809
lego movie was completely snubbed at the oscars. don't know about the grammies, but it lost out to big hero 6.
>>
>>78138827
Nah, Everything is Awesome was indeed nominated for original song, but lost anyway. A lot of the voters in the best animated feature category expressed their displeasure at Lego's snub, tho.
>>
>>78137532
Ralph should've ended up with ____Felix
>>
>>78138827
>An animated film was completely snubbed at the oscars

What a fucking shock! It's as if the Oscars are run by hacks or something!
>>
>>78137532
Only part of the movie that had to do with real video games

still a good movie though

Man, I know this doesn't mean much, but it really annoys me how safe Big Hero 6 is. It really was not that good.
>>
Anyone else laugh when Bison said "You're not thinking about going Turbo are you?"

I mean yes it was about Turbo the WiR character, but I couldn't help but think it was a subtle reference to Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

I thought that too till they revealed who was Turbo.

What? Voters in Best Animated Feature were upset with the category for once?
their opinion is irrelevant since nobody votes in Best Animated Feature anyway :^)

>Overrated recent films getting in KH3 before classic and longer-awaited ones like Robin Hood and Emperor's New Groove.

What's worse is that most of the world budget will probably be put into them.
>>
Fuck-it-up-Frank was the best movie of 2012 IMO
>>
>>78142035
Yup. Was super bummed when Turbo was revealed to be an actual character. Still hilarious though.
>>
>>78143559
Do you really want an Emporer's New Groove world in a Japanese game? With Japanese humor?
>>
>>78143991

Eh, at this point of the series might as well get it out of the way and hope for the best. Hopefully they'll get some of the film's writers but it may be too old.
>>
>>78138507
that's what people at arcades assumed

why not have it all?

Hope you know wreck it Ralph 2 was confirmed nearly two years ago
>>
>>78137532

Why is Zangief there he's not a bad guy?
Pixar confirmed for not knowing shit about Vidya
>>
>>78144948
I hope they don't force her as Ralph's love interest in the next movie.
>>
>>78150187
>Communist
>Not a bad guy
Za soyuz sovetskih socialisticheskih respublic, tovarisch!
>>
>>78137532
I only watched it this for the first time a couple of months ago, and I didn't think it was anything special.
The first half is okay, but then it goes nowhere and nothing feels like it wraps up in a satisfying manner. Felix and Ms Tragic Past were the worst kind of tagalong characters with a forced purpose that didn't really tie into the core plot.
Vanelope was supposed to be annoyingly cute, but the voice just made her unbearably annoying.
And Ralph's own plot just fails on account of two things.
First of all, he never really acts like a "bad guy". Even in the "you really are" scene he's just doing it for a good reason (regardless of what was truly going on).
And then... People really don't turn stop being assholes to him. The epilogue goes for the SUPER HAPPY ENDING, even saving other forgotten characters from obscurity. But there isn't a scene where people go "gee, I guess we are NOT the roles we play in our jobs!". Nobody apologized to him for shit.
Everything after Sugar Rush is just all over the place.
>>
>>78150187
One of the writers explained that when he played SF2 as a kid, he always hated playing against Zangief so he saw 'gief as a villain
>>
>>78150238

Doesn't mean shit he is not a villain therefore Pixar is a shit
>>
>>78143559
>We will never get a Kuzco summon where he shows up in the foreground and draws all over the battlefield with a marker
>We'll never get Yzma acting as a general for the Heartless
>>
>>78150238
Meaning he never got to Bison, meaning he's shit.

Then again, Capcom didn't correct them.

But hey, Capcom.
>>
>>78150274
You will never see this song playing during Yzma boss:

>>
>>78138827

It was a glorified advertisement for LEGO. come now.
>>
>>78150472
Yet they made it more entertaining.
Name another one-hour commercial that is at least enjoyable.
>>
>>78150472
And it was entertaining to watch.
>>
I still don't really get what the moral is supposed to be. You'll never be able to escape your stereotypes so just accept it and be the best stereotype you can be?
>>
>>78150482
"Entertaining" sure is worthy of an award. Let's give an Oscar for that one not-Teletubbies movie, it entertained toddlers!
>>
>>78150513

Don't force yourself to be something your not just to fit in. Be yourself because being happy with yourself is better than being miserable being someone else.

Its a pretty transparent moral.
>>
>>78137532
Good movie that would have been better if 80% of it wasnt spent in candy land. Felt more like a board game movie than a video game movie because this.
>>
>>78150513
I thought it was a pretty Aristotelian moral.
You're good because you do the thing you're supposed to do the best that you can.
A little weird that Ralph ended up being a bad guy (i.e. it is good for him to be the best bad guy he can be) and not a human though. I still don't know what to make of that.
>>
>>78150534
Pixar movies arent glorified commercials with the purpose of getting parents to buy their kids toys?
>>
>>78150534
>Big Hero 6
>Boxtrolls
>HTTY2
Compare it to those movies and tell me is not Oscar-worthy. It makes me feel glad that they managed to do a good story.
I didn't put Song of the sea and Princess Kaguya because we are talking about an award ceremony full of hacks
>>
>>78150513
being vidya is suffering, but at least you can suffer toge*^IH*&[NO CARRIER]
>>
>>78150187
I've done twelve step type programs, and there were people there who did not have the actual addiction but were allowed to join and talk anyway because there was clearly something wrong with them. If Zangief really felt like a "bad guy" even though he wasn't one, they'd let him in.
>>
>>78151043
Or, they just fucked up because they couldn't be arsed to do a google search on the character.
>>
>>78150557
>destroying somebody else's life because you think you deserve their privilege makes you worse than satan
>>
>>78151103
Or you could find a reason to complain about this movie beyond a brief appearance by one sprite in the first ten minutes of the movie, no-balls. Did they spend too much time in the racing game? Do you hate Vanellope's voice actress? Were you emotionally invested in the dragon sequel?
>>
>>78151149
I did find several legitimate reasons to complain about.
Trying to defend what is clearly a mistake without any worth, though, is kinda silly. So I pointed it out.
Now go back to your program and apologize to god or whatever it is that you do.

>>

>>

Well, according to the credits the character's name is actually Saitine, so there you go, Disney scummed it out.
