Danny Phantom is the poster child of "wasted potential the show". I mean, to have such a cool and original concept only to fuck it up with Fairly Oddparents humor and lack of seriousness.
The Ultimate Enemy was perfection and should have been the tone of the series but Butch Hartman couldn't resist turning Danny Phantom into Fairly Oddparents 2.0 Ghost Edition

And even then Butch fucked that up. Another interesting concept was the black chick (can't remember her name) and Danny relationship. Danny ruined the black chick's life and so she was on a vendetta to capture Danny Phantom. Later in the series, they started to express feelings for each other.
Now you see, THAT is good character arc and development. It could have took the direction of Valerie finding out Danny was the ghost that ruined her life but her putting that aside because she loved him. But Butch Hartman dropped this character arc and development and shoehorned Sam and Danny hooking up.

I first saw the trailer and got pumped for Nick to start making more serious action cartoons like CN.
The ideas behind the reboot were great. I loved Thundara being an imperial kingdom full of jerkasses, and I loved the sibling tension between Lion and Tigra.
But everything past the first episode just started swirling down the drain.

I think that sounds pretty shitty, honestly. MLAATR was more suited as a slice-of-life show in a neat setting with some exposition interspersed with creatively driven (strange villains and gadgets) fight scenes.
DBZ fight scenes would make it more like Samurai Jack, which I think would be unsuitable.
