When I was a boy around that age I wouldn't have given the show a try but would have enjoyed it if I got to watch it.

There's no real need to pair every character up with someone, that's a mentality which leads to crappy results, especially if the people being paired up have never even interacted in any way.

I'm not sure if a really young boy would like it, or at least begin watching it on their own, because of the more girly aspects. But around Halloween Daron reposted a lot of pictures of little girls dressing up as Star, like under 10 years old, so some kids that young must like it.
I think they'd enjoy it too, even though I wonder how much of the more dark/out-there jokes they're really getting at that age. Like, maybe they'd see Star as a cool girl/superhero instead of a kind of violent dork? Maybe Marco's karate could be seen as cool too.
Beyond that, maybe 9-12 for both genders? Daron has said she wanted it to be something adults could like too, but somehow I doubt /co/ is the main demographic.
