Aquaman from BTBATB is literally the GOAT DCAU character.
The show pissed me off because of it's entire concept. I don't mind the idea of a more comedy focused TT show, but like a lot of modern cartoons, it looks fucking hideous in comparison to its twelve year old predecessor and is an effort to conform to modern wacky comedy shows.
Imagine if the new Samurai Jack was a 100% zany comedy with hideously ugly chibi art.

actually this episode didn't really score high for me. I tend to find as much as I love TTG, weak episodes will be one of three things
1) a joke that gets done to death = waffles / 40-40-20
2) Titans do something, Raven explains an NPC character won't like it, and finally, The Stick / Sandwich / Television deity turns up at the end
3) An episode where they suffer time constraints, where 10 minutes isn't enough. For example the retro video game one. Starfire got a great segment, Raven got a fun one, but with Robin in the sewer pipe it's like they needed 10 seconds more to wrap up

2) Burger vs Burrito
3) Anything that tries to ship Rae/BB

Personally, I get the impression that the hate for this show is mostly from people that either 1. haven't watched it because it's 'disrespectful of the Teen Titans', or, 2. have seen one episode, maybe two.
My opinion on it is that it's one of the most polarized shows in terms of quality I've ever seen. I can't say I like the show as a whole, because it has so many plain stinker episodes, but on the other hand it has some seriously great ones. It seems to alternate between shit and gold with almost no middle ground. I definitely like certain episodes of the show.
I also like how assblasted people get when Raven is implied to want the Beast Dick. Shit is genuinely hilarious, moreso than any cartoon could ever be.
Maybe if the new Samurai Jack turns out to be shit we are going to stop doing bait post like this one.

Tonally it fits ed edd and eddy. TTG is a parady of itself, which some people love and some dont. Personally I cant get into something that paradies itself unless ive already gotten my fill of amazing from it. Examples include Space Balls and Men in Tights, both are great cause the great versions theyre paradying stand on their own and got to finish.
Shows like TTG or Ultimute spiderman are massive dissapointments because im still waiting for them to finish what their already making fun of.
Im not someone whos gonna watch crap I dont like tho, so I gave TTG a chance, didnt like it, not for me. If they ever decide to follow through with an original teen titans or young justice, after that i can enjoy its parody, like I did with brave n the bold.
That said shittier animation and cheap shock humor also devalue the end product, as does a misplaced tone(poor tone award goes to ultimate spider-man)

A lot of people didn't like the original Teen Titans because it was too anime and did goofy shit like the Mad Mod, Mother May Eye, vegetarian tofu alien, and Puppeteer episodes. And it was fine.
But there were kids who grew up with it that are now old enough to post on 4chan that think it was hot shit and the new show is kiddy bullshit random garbage. This is despite the fact it's an entirely different type of show, different type of demographic, the new show pays homage to the old show plenty of times and openly shows admiration for it, and it got the entire voice cast when it could've just slummed it.
When an anime gets a gag-spinoff it's supposed to be a compliment. I can't imagine people watch Full Metal Panic Fumoffu and complain that there's not enough magic time travel alien crystal robot magic bullshit during a beach episode.
