I posted this on /v/ yesterday but perhaps /co/ would make more sense:

In my spare time I really enjoy conceptualizing new games for IPs that I really like. One that I've spent a lot of time thinking about is a classic Bioware style game for the Avatar universe. When I saw classic Bioware style I mean in the vein of KOTOR or Dragon Age Origins or Mass Effect 1.

So anyway, my main point in posting this is I'd like to run my ideas past people who know what they're talking about and see just how retarded the story outline I've come up with is:

A few thousand years before Aang, YOU are the avatar. BUT you don't know it yet. In fact, you haven't been able to bend any element at all yet. You were born to a sand tribe father and a mother from a nation that depends on the origin you choose at the beginning of the game. ie you can start in any of the nations and your mother is from that nation.

As for the reason you haven't been able to bend yet, your character's father killed the last avatar in a ritualistic manner (taught to him by an evil spirit) that would allow the next avatar to be born of his line, which he hoped would be able to unite the sand tribes. However the ritual also released the bending powers imbued in the avatar from Raava and spread them across the world in highly spiritual locations. The first act of the game would involve receiving a vision from Raava and going to these locations to regain the bending powers and become a fully realised avatar.

The second act of the game would deal with completing your actual duties as avatar and keeping the world in balance. Key antagonists in the game would include your father, the spirit who gave taught him the ritual, an earthbending mob boss who can bend gold (but only gold, no other metals) and a sect of militaristic airbenders.

So if it's shit, tell me and if you want to know more about things like companions, tell me that too. And of course, feel free to share any of your cartoon game pipe dreams too!

>dad as antagonist
Fits with Bryke's confused hateboner for authority figures.

The Avatar universe is dumb, it's not worth writing more of it. Gold bending is impressively lame.

This is impressively autistic, friend.

The only autisim of my own I can add is that I'm still waiting on is an Avatar fighting game like the Naruto ones. It's awful fun to imagine each character's special finisher attacks.

That's a very cute Turtleduck.

How the fuck did some random sandnigger kill the avatar in a ritual you fucking autismo this was thr stupidest thing i have read in a while.
>>
>>78108230
This is the most glaring thing
Avatars seem to have stupid dumb luck, only dying of old age or from natural disasters

It would make more sense if a sandbender became a monk in the nation where the next avatar would be born, found your identity, and then stole you when you were a baby (avatars are often identified even at young ages with the toy test) to raise you to reunite the earth kingdom

he isn't some random sand bender, he'd be on zaheer and ozai's levels and might also couple this with some sort of deus ex machina ability to disable the avatar's ability to go into avatar state (through the ritual)

You literally had all the highlights of his life in two episodes. There's nothing else to tell aside from the crazy battles he was in.

Truth be told, the Second Avatar was probably more interesting. Since he was the one that had to define exactly what an Avatar is.

>You were born to a sand tribe father
I think I recall that same kind of thing being a /co/ "project", a couple of months back.

They are probably the least explored culture in the avatar world so it makes sense to want to do something dealing with them
