They are alright. I've learnt that they are the best way to read Kirkman given how long his series go for with no end in sight. They are as easy to read as any other omnibus/compendium/whatever. Just heavy if held for long periods of time.
Jojo's quality comes down to personal taste. I think they are great but not everyone is a fan of posing, onomatopoeia and music inspired names.

No one talks about IDW GI Joe here and it's good stuff. I have the hardcovers and the GI Joe comics with Chuckles being undercover is especially worth checking out. Reminds me of an Ed Brubaker noir comic. IDW even took the story and put it in its own hardcover.
