Current chapter is Kat finalising her attempts at organic-like robotics.
Prior to that we had Annie drama with dad

>annie freaks out, cuts off her hair to seal her fire half, turns nearly emotionless
>dad also tells her that the court had caught her cheating on her classes and she has to redo a year, takes away reynardine and forbids her from visiting the forest
>initially a lot of people see him like a controlling dickass
>later with donald (kat's dad), anthony has a heart to heart over a drink, he reveals that he's freaking out pretty hard about annie too, and that court was going to expel her but he bargained it down to a year redo and tries to protect her from dangerous magical shit he sees in rey and forest
>also reveals that the bone thing that Zimmie broke way back was indeed him, he got in deals with some spirits that told him he could see Surma again by sacrificing his hand, it was a trick and nearly pulled Annie's soul out instead
>then Coyote shows up, demands Annie to be allowed back for visiting, puts on some pressure and the court agrees
>once in the forest, Ysengrin breaks the blinker stone that Annie was using to seal off, she freaks out for a bit, but then gets back to normal
>after the visit, she takes Rey back (hilarious meta joke: previous chapter and the title page set it up like a heist to break him out, she just walks up to the door and asks, Tony gives him. All in one page.)

Because gunnershit fail is slow, also there isn't that much about mysteries or such right now. Annie hasn't been much fun since her father showed up, and Kat is either doing lesbian things, or being slowly and painfully obviously deified. All of the foreshadowing with Kat is actually making the slow pacing even worse, because it's a matter of showing us exactly what we already knew, and doing it over and over again.
