Throughout the multiverse there are different Phoenixes with different vessels and colors. As the other /co/mrade said, Jean Grey and the Phoenix force are united in harmony. The last universe's eternity specifically chose him to be the next galactus and gave him all that was of Galan's universe making him an embryonic eternity and he sat in a cocoon for countless aeons growing, gestating till he became the devourer.
