Another Arkham game produced by Rocksteady, taking place about twenty years after Arkham Knight with Terry McGinnis as the new Batman armed with a suit composed of nanobots and a controllable swarm that changes into any shape he desires. His ultimate challenge has begun when the insidious Professor Pyg along with his deformed cohorts unleashes the Circus of The Strange onto Gotham.
Featuring the appearances of new villains such as Mister Toad, Inque, Doctor Phosphorus, Baby Doll, Killer Moth, The Ventriloquist (Peyton Riley) and Ratcatcher with some classic faces such as Killer Croc and Clayface who is in cahoots with Pyg and The Riddler who is up to his old tricks again.
Stephanie Brown appears as the second Batgirl still in her training stages, she is initially held hostage by The Riddler in the main story but she can be made into an ally and there is a DLC storyline starring her as she tries to prove herself by taking on the uncatchable Cluemaster, also featuring the return of Harley Quinn and Firefly.
Their is also the Reign of Anarchy DLC where you play as Nightwing to take on the master anarchist, Anarky and stop his onslaught upon Gotham with side missions featuring the return of Red Hood and fellow anarchist Music Meister.

The Circus of The Strange is composed of Professor Pyg, Mister Toad, Big Top, Killer Croc, Baby Doll, Clayface, Inque and King Shark and they are all bosses as you would expect. Their are also Dollotrons which are a special kind of enemy that are immune to your psychological tactics and need just a little extra force to take down.
The introduction of the nanobots adds a new angle in combat, defeating enemies will build up the power of the nanobots which is represented as a meter with multiple levels (1-5) each level allows you to unleash a Nanobot Swarm that will act differently depending on the level you used, like, level one will trap all enemies that are in range while level five will create a fantastic swarm of bats composed of nanobots that simply terrify enemies into submission and do heavy damage on bosses and larger enemies. Nanobots can also swarm around your fists for enhanced blows and can can form constructs like walls and tethers. Some gadgets have returned such as the Voice Synthesizer and Batclaw as well as some new trinkets such as the Glue Gun (courtesy of Killer Moth).
The Batmobile is reintroduced (just a new model of course) but it will not be as mandatory like it was in Arkham Knight, vehicle battles with Pyg's floats, Batmobile puzzles with the Riddler and racing challenges are all present but not as frequent.
After the main story has been finished certain side missions and challenges will be unlocked such as Stained Black where you must locate the scared and alone Inque and prove to her that you want to help and Play Time where Baby Doll attempts to break Killer Croc out of incarceration and you must stop and apprehend her.
an older Bruce Wayne who has gone into hiding after faking his death plays a similar role to what Alfred and others played, guiding you and assisting you however he can throughout the game, other allies include Lucious Fox and Barbara Gordon, Alfred however has passed away due to old age.

These are all the side missions in the main story of Beyond Arkham along with the villains that you encounter in them. Inque and Baby Doll of the Circus of the Strange have their own side missions after the main story has been complete and each mission has a specific duty to carry out along with a boss fight concerning the featured villain.
