Most people have no strong feelings about Superman, beyond that he's corny and not very interesting. Not everyone has read All Star, we're talking about casuals here. Even most kids prefer other superheroes.
And that's just in America, where Superman is most well-liked. Elsewhere he's even more irrelevant. People know and like the symbolism associated with him, but they don't really care about the character in general. This shows in MoS's performance - by superhero movie standards it did pretty poorly, especially seeing as it was released in the post-Avengers zenith of superhero popularity.

I hope it's really good and a huge success. But I have some actual interaction with people beyond comicbook fans and internet nerds, so I know that Superman is not exactly the huge draw he was decades ago, and MoS has done nothing remedy that.
This film will make big dollars mostly through the power of the Batman.

The studio will not alow this movie to fail they have too much invested both in terms of prestige and cash.
