Yang has so chemistry potential with just about everybody, but the show does a really poor job and doesn't capitalize on it at all.
Her interactions with Blake in the forest and when Blake was on her CAN'T SLEEP BOWLER HATS WILL EAT ME bit are pretty good, but Yang has precious few interactions with anyone, even her own fucking sister.

I don't see how putting "I used to sing in clubs when I was younger" changes a character entirely. A lot of people do things when they're younger that they wouldn't want to do again, even if they enjoyed it at the time.
Besides, we don't know shit about Glynda other than "Sassy Badass T&A Secretary Huntress that works with Ozpin". The reason this general gets away with so many different headcanons and flufffics is because the characters have so little charactarization that they're basically blank slates. Fanfiction and the like almost always only serves to fill in blanks. The more blanks there are, the more fanwank you'll get.
