I was previously less wary about this Kickstarter than the Psychonauts 2 campaign, but when the writers were revealed, I'm totes down with the whole thing. Plus, the double-features this week have been a nice nostalgia trip.
I just kind of wish there wasn't so much of a push for donations at every step. I mean, we all already know why we're here or there. I guess it's not hard to stay your excitement when you're this close to $5 million and the full twelve episodes planned.

Rifftax has has done all kinds of promotion for the MST3K reboot.
Joel was the star of MST3K for years before Mike took over as the lead character, and Rifftrax is very much Mike/Kevin/Bill's focus. It only makes sense for Joel to take the lead reviving this.
And I say that as someone who greatly prefers the M/K/B episodes.

I've seen every episode multiple times legally and illegally. There's a difference between having the ability to binge watch episodes and tuning in once a week to watch MST3K on my TV. I barely turn on my TV anymore to watch anything, so tuning in to watch something just once a week is a rare occurrence nowadays -- and the scarcity makes it all the more special when it happens.
