What is it that bothers me so much about this show?
>>
Not enough porn of hijab girl
>>
I personally find it cute but the way it has social media, phone, and Internet trends is really annoying.
>>
>>78051139
Rather, be glad. That should mean you are not a comfyfag.
>>
>>78051139
You hate bros and good times?

You're getting old and you're not with it anymore. This show is so much "with it" that it's a bit offputting.
>>
>>78051190
>>78051228
Is that really what's popular with the kids? Because I volunteer a lot, and overhear a bunch of teenagers talking, you know what they talk about mostly? TV. Motherfucking TV. TV, gossip about their schoolmates, celebrities, pop music. Same shit we talked about when we were kids.

When I encounter someone glued to social media, saying trendy buzzwords every other word, drowning in internet culture, they aren't kids, they're 24 year old losers or 45 year-old women going through a mid-life crisis.
>>
>>78051228
I think that I'm part of the generation this show is based on. There must be more to it.

Like, I think it's something about how people are unable to make use of social media without putting ironic distance between themselves and the culture. You know how so many people love to make ironic HASHTAG SELFIE INSTAGRAM jokes, as if they're above it, even though they actually love to use twitter and instagram? I think that this show is like a manifestation of that mindset.

There's also something very tumblrish (?) about all the human character designs. Like, it seems as if there's a mathematical diversity ratio that the artists adhere to, and yet all of the minority characters are still self-confident hipsters. It's like a very homogeneous, safe "diversity" that middle class, suburban white millennials feel good about even though they're actually scared of different cultures.
>>
>>78051548
Holy shit, your post is nigh unreadable. What an idiot. Judge the show for its writing and nothing more.
>>
>>78051190
Yeah, I like it, but it has so much internet meme shit it's not going to age well.
>>
>>78051139
I don't mind the social media in the show, it's the fact that a good portion of the comedy relies on the ironic distance >>78051548
is talking about in order to make jokes that in a few years will become very, very dated and very, very unfunny.

I don't find the characters or episode plots particularly engaging either. They're not BAD, I just felt so apathetic when I watched the show, it was hard to be excited about watching the next episode.

I understand why people like it because it is pretty "comfy".

>>78051575
Wow, you've got a bunch in your panties.
>>
>>78051700
>Wow, you've got a bunch in your panties.
It gets a bit tiring to see /co/ ramble about SJWs all the time. Can we focus on the show itself for once?

It was the same shit with DKIII. OMG MILLER IS A LEFTIST! POLICE SHOOTINGS! Who cares? Focus on the actual writing.
>>
>>78051721
Ignore it. You only make it worse by complaining.
>>
>>78051721
The show is the definition of insipid. It's the cartoon equivalent of raw celery.
>>
>>78051771
But raw celery smells so good and adds a bit of crunch to my chicken salad.
>>
>>78051575
uh, I'm talking about both the writing and the art. I'd say those are both important parts of a cartoon, and I'm trying to put a finger on why the writing and art are annoying.

>>78051721
The writing and the culture that the show exists in are entangled, just like any other written thing. Do you think there's nothing more to comedy than the formal structure of the plot and jokes? Some of the plots and jokes are annoying because they evince an annoying worldview.

SJWs are parallel to what I was talking about, but if anything they're a symptom of the culture that I find annoying. I don't care about the politics.
>>
>>78051139
1.The main characters are:
>an unlikable loud obnoxious grizzly bear
>an unlikable lolsorandom polar bear
>a slightly likable weeb nerdy panda (one of the least likable animals)

2. It has an overuse of modern day trends that generally date the show way too much

3. It has a fanbase of disgusting degenerate animal fuckers
>>
>>78051139
The fucking fanbase is disgusting. I can't wait till they go to trash. Definitely one of the worst generals we've had on /co/ in a long time.

The show is completely sjw Tumblr with all the diversity. Black, asians and whatever. Who gives a fuck about diversity in a cartoon.

And the three main bears are all annoying and only care about themselves. The show is definitely one of the worsg currently airing shows.

How do people like this Tumblr garbarge?
>>
>>78051993
This is a classic kneejerk argument that I think oversimplifies the issue. Is it really a problem to make diverse cartoon characters? I think that what's actually bothersome is that it seems like a very palatable, whitewashed diversity. I'd like to see more cartoons with a cast of heterogeneous characters (which better reflects real-life experience), rather than a bunch of culturally-white young adults with different skin colors, none of whom would look out of place in your local gentrified "cool neighborhood"

I remember an episode where the bears meet the Korean girl's parents that actually played with their cultural differences and it was actually enjoyable.
>>
>>78051993
>Who gives a fuck about diversity in a cartoon
Probably all the asians and black people that worked on the show, you fucking idiot
>>
>>78051400
Turns out teenagers aren't a homogeneous group. The nerdier ones obsess over memes and stuff, the socialites alternate between real life social gatherings and online ones, and every other group just does whatever they would have done before the internet, but with some modern technology sprinkled on.
>>
>>78051139
It's Memes: The Show
>>
>>78051882
>>a slightly likable weeb nerdy panda
At least make your projecting less noticeable.
>>
>>78051882
Ice Bear isn't really lolrandom. He's just a quiet, slightly eccentric guy who likes to keep to himself and goes along with whatever his brothers or friends want to do.

Also, why am I not surprised that the one character the more vitriolic members of /co. relate to is the betafag fedora-in-waiting weeaboo manchild?
>>
>>78051993
>Who gives a fuck about diversity in a cartoon

You, obviously. It's not really part of the plot or anything, but seeing blacks, asians, and whatevers gets you super riled, apparently. Why are you so obsessed with homogeneous background casts?
>>
>>78052559
Nah, Panda is likable because the show doesn't try to make him seem "cool". He's pathetic and from what little I've seen, the show does make it clear.
He's still only slightly likable and not nearly enough to make the show watchable.

>>78052649
>speaks in third person
>always has weapons because "pointless violence is funny"
I don't know what he is, but he's annoying and unfunny.
I do not relate to Panda at all. I just said he more likable compared to the rest of the obnoxious cast.
>>
>>78052777
He is a martial arts hobbyist who collects weapons. The show is far too comfy for pointless violence--it's just a thing he's into because he's "that weird quiet guy who collects knives". That's not lolrandom, it's a pretty clear personality archetype.
>>
>>78052694
no, he's probably annoyed by a more vague/complex issue with what we think of as tumblr culture, but he's dumb so he misinterprets his gut feeling as a problem with diversity itself instead of trying to figure out what the actual problem is
>>
>>78051993
>>>/pol/
>>
>>78051190
>>78051591
You're going to look back on this like those who saw rock music as nothing but a fad. Considering normal adults and popular adult culture eats it up and produces it as well as little kid. This meme shit is here to stay. It'll change forms and it'll evolve, but it'll still be meme shit all the same.
>>
>>78051139
All the characters have traits that make for unlikable people.
>Grizz, is the overly friendly type that just HAS to get along with everyone, which comes off as loud
>Panda is the hypersensitive type whose constant display of emotions (he could be in SU given how often he cries) tends to make others uncomfortable. He's also a weeb that draws anime, sings on Kpop karaoke and reads books for teenage girls.
>Ice Bear is the "quirky" quiet type that can have interests of his own, but prefers to basically be a sheep, as he feels content with just being part of the group, even if he's incapable of interaction with others.

You can even tell on the show by how pretty much everyone dislikes the bears
>>
>>78051139
I'm guessing that OP is a giant faggot and WBB just doesn't feature enough man-tackle and dick to satisfy your proclivities.
>>
>>78053586
WBB is to millennials what Regular Show is to slackers
>>
>>78051548

>Like, it seems as if there's a mathematical diversity ratio that the artists adhere to

It's set in San Francisco
>>
>>78053808
Regular show is millennial as hell, it's just flavored with 80s nostalgia which also gives it generation x appeal.
>>
>>78051139
Muslims. Get that anti-semitic shit out of my cartoons.
>>
>>78051139
It's completely uninteresting and targeted to people half your age.
>>
>>78051190
Hate to break it to ya buddy, but that's real life.
>>
>>78051993

>The show is completely sjw Tumblr with all the diversity. Black, asians and whatever. Who gives a fuck about diversity in a cartoon.

Only you apparently.

San Francisco one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse places in the US. It's filled with Blacks and Asians in real life. Where does We Bare Bears take place? San Francisco. If you ask me they did a good job on the portrayal of the background population. Why? Because it's realistic and makes sense. Nobody gives a fuck, except for you and the guys on /pol/.
>>
>>78054148
Kids half our age are online dating, buying body pillows, and going to college?
>>
>>78053949
it's a bit of both, really. It's full of stoner comedy tropes and the main characters are all losers.
>>
>>78051993
>How do people like this Tumblr garbarge?
It's Comfyâ„¢.
>>
>>78051139
I don't know what bothers you about it, op
>>
>>78051139
All the panda homolust.
