I don't know what it was about the Hellbeast arc that made it feel like Namek, because going back and reading it takes no time at all and it flows really well.
But at the time, just goddamn. Something like 2 months we were fighting that cocky bastard. It was a fun ride that paid off 110% percent but we would go weeks at a time dedicated to just Allison's life being ruined.
