Lots of fun, sure. But lacks substance. It can't decide whether it wants to be episodic or plot-driven. And when there is plot, it's absent in most episodes save for minor scenes.

But so often criticism like:

My issue is that if a show is episodic, be episodic. If a show is plot-driven, be ONLY plot-driven with the occasional filler.
Maybe it's my autism, but bouncing back and forth from no plot-progression to sudden plot-progression is jarring when it comes to pacing in story-telling.

If you're someone who likes b-movies or more experimental film, it's not that hard to get over and even admire how it was thrown together even if it's not "technically" good.
As for the story, I grew up with a best female friend who was abused at home, so the story really hits me. It's about someone who wants to save his friend and does the WORST POSSIBLE THING out of the goodness of his heart. It's a really sad, awful, but interesting story. I like Teen Titans for the same reasons, really, though it's obviously not as extreme.
There's also the fact I both like really extreme, fucked up underground cinema AND grimdark CGI cartoons, so I mean, yeah. That was kinda made for me.
