During the Blackest Night event, each of the seven lantern colors deputized an inhabitant of Earth to help fight Nekron. Lex Luthor got the orange ring of greed and felt what it was like to have godlike power, something he had pursued heavily in 52 when Superman seemingly vanished for one year.

It's a really good run, especially in comparison to what's being down nowadays. Especially the way things were tied in, in a very big picture fashion (Savage, Grodd, etc.) but the ultimate denouementrespecting the PZ 'child' and what it did to Lex was a cheat/plot crutch, none the less, great that you are story timing it - people should read it and make up their own minds, it's really very clever.
You should do the entire series (which means the Doomday books) as well.
