Would you rather have magic powers or super powers?
>>77968905
i love you
Depends on the nature of the powers and how much inane bullshit comes with it.
>>77968890
It depends.
Magic would probably fulfill more of my kinks
>>77968890
Magic trumps super. I'd rather be Mr. Mxyzptlk than Superman.
>>77968890
Super powers, I don't want to have to memorize spells.
>super powers require less prep and would be easier to use
>magic powers likely have less restrictions and allow more bullshit but are harder to use
>thread
>>77969213
Or would you?
>>77968890
Pfft. Same thing.
>>77969675
This is just stupid.
Even back during the Silver Age, Superman was powerless against Mxyzptlk.
You're being vague.
Superpowers can mean anything. Am I flying brick or do I talk to birds or what? What ARE my superpowers?
Same with magic powers, am I simply open to all Magic in the world or a particular ability that's just magic in origin?
With things so vague I'll go with Superpowers, atleast there the ramifications are purely physical rather than metaphysical. Magic has spiritual connotations meaning the wrong use of magic could result in the damnation or destruction of my soul.
Magic based super powers
MAGIC
>>77968890
The difference being that super powers are innate and magic requires some sort of gestures or incantations...superpower.
>>77968890
Does power over some supernatural force qualify as magic or a superpower?
Like, would characters like Ghost Rider, The Darkness, and Scarlet Witch be considered to have "magic" or are they just supers who draw their powers from the supernatural? Is Magic only considered so when it's people who cast spells like Doctor Strange, Zatanna, or Dr. Fate?
You gotta be more clear, OP.
>>77968890
Magic, I wouldn't have to wear some dumb costume.
Why decided? powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Random
Heroes and villains hardly choose where their powers come from
Magic generally fucks more shit up and has far less defined drawbacks.
>>77972024
There's spell-like shit and outside sources of power, but magic is usually an innate thing that might require channeling it through an object or chanting some spooky shit but ultimately comes from the user itself.
>>77968890
Depends on the powers homie
>>77968890
With superpowers, you don't have to earn it, and you generally get a set "power-level". What you can do is limited to what your superpowers are.
With Magic, you study and practice and learn. You power matches exactly the amount of time and effort you put into it, and the possibilities are limited only by the extent of your research.
Magic = power over time that may be unlimited
Superpowers = power right now that will be specific.
So, yeah, Magic. Hands down.

I have the power of being my own waifu, apparently.
>>77972299
I still think this needs a better format. I almost made one too but got distracted with finals. There needs to be concessions made to how the power is manifested, how long it takes to channel, how intense the power is, the range of effect, control over power, fine control of effects and so on.
For example a reality warper can be anything from Finn the human to Franklin Richards. Those are two extremely different levels of control and intensity.
>>77972464
why has nobody made an 'eat shit' edit of this?
Magic.
Writers dealing with both tend to suck. So I can conjure a deus ex machina whenever I please.
>>77972509
The issue with magic is the rules. Becoming an OP arch mage is dangerous because you could make the wrong deal with a deity or be obliterated by seeing an arcane truth you could not yet comprehend.
>>77972607
Worth it. I might even get to fulfill all my /tg/ power-fantasies.
>>77972511
Seconded.
>>77968890
Magic. Magic gets you all the bitches.
>>77972509
>>77972733
thanks, I've been looking for the unedited version.
>>77972733
This just looks like the demon is going to be more interested in the wizard than in the princess.
Also, this is probably the best picture I'm going to see today.
>>77972549
I have a personal preference of re rolling very powerful powers, I don't like easy to abuse powers since that is just boring and uncreative
Could a super hero look this cool? I don't think so.
>>77972863
fucking space bending wizards
fuck your magic, asshole
>>77972941
These two look like brothers.

Neato.
>>77972464
Depends on the setting, really.
Sometimes it's like that, other times it's a double-edged sword that ends with demons, sacrifice, and madness.
>>77972953
they just have same face
Magic. Doctor Strange single-handily proves that magic powers > Super powers.
With Super powers, it's mostly like a lottery. You might get a superpower such as super strength and that's it.
But with Magic? MAgic is essentially motherfucking gameshark. You want Super speed? Do that magic incantation and voila, you're fast as hell now. Want super strength? Again, do the magic incantation and you're strong, stronger than even the Hulk.
Magic powers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Super powers anyday.
>>77968890
What about magical super powers?
>>77973717
He is magical he is just using his powers heroically.
Magic super powers.

>Do not mistake me for a conjurer of weak lifts
>>77974532
You better roll magic, because you have to conjure me up some new sides.
